The United States Air Force (USAF) is the largest air force in the world with over 1,500,000 members. The USAF is responsible for providing protection and support to American citizens and interests worldwide. The USAF was founded in 1947 as the U.S. Army Air Forces and changed its name to the USAF in 1949. In 1961, Congress passed the National Defense Authorization Act which provided for a permanent air arm within the USAF. On July 16, 1992, President George H.W. Bush announced that all branch of military service would be merged into one organization called "the Department of Defense". This move created a huge vacuum within the USAF and caused much confusion as to who controlled what airspace and how it functioned. Today, there are three wings within the USAF - The Tactical Air Command (TAC), Strategic Air Command (SAC), and Air Combat Commands (ACC). TAC is responsible for flying combat missions while SAC is responsible for operating strategic bombers while ACC oversees all aerial refueling operations. Each wing has its own commanding general who reports directly to their respective Wing Commander or Chiefs of Staffs/Chief warrant officers respectively. The Beavercreek Air Force Base Gift History began in 1942 when the base became part of the United States Army. The gift of a trainer aircraft to the air force was one of the first major gifts given to the military by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. After World War II, the air force continued to grow and needed more airplanes and trainers. In 1948, General Hap Arnold became Air Force Chief of Staff and decided that the air force should get its own airplane manufacturing company. This company was called McDonnell Aircraft and it produced North American Aviation (NAA) airplanes for the USAF. The gift of McDonnell Douglas airplanes to the USAF is considered one of America's most important military partnerships.
Beavercreek is a city in and the county seat of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 147,604 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now known as Beavercreek was first settled by Native Americans in the 1790s. In 1837, it became a town under the name of Euclid. In 1871, it was renamed Beavercreek after John Beal Creekside Estate on Larchmont Road in Cleveland Heights. The name change reflected increasing industry and labor troubles along the Cuyahoga River Valley during that time period. Beavercreek's current name honors John Beal Creekside who donated land to make this city its permanent home in 1881. Beavercreek is located at (41.738362,-75.824182). As of the census of 2000, there were 116,914 people, 49,527 households, and 32,681 families residing in the city;the population density was 3,645 per square mile (1,361/km²). There were 54,679 housing units at an average density of 1,562 per square mile (524/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 93% White alone or non-Hispanic white (non-black race only), 1% African American alone or non-African American (non-Black race only), 2% Native American alone or non-Native American (non-American Indian race only), 2% Asian alone or non-Asian (non-Japanese race only), 0.2% Pacific Islander alone or none thereof and 1%. 5% from other races
The USAF has a rich history of gift giving. From the humble Flying Finn to the awe-inspiring F-15 Eagle, the USAF has had some amazing gifts over the years. Here are a few examples: 1) The Flying Finn: The flying Finn was an experimental fighter designed by USAAF pilots in World War II. It featured unpowered aircraft flown bywireless transmission. Its design was inspired by Finnish fighters of that era, such as the Mikoyan MiG and Raduga Sikorsky S-2. The flying Finn first flew in October 1945 and entered service with the USAAF in 1946. In total, it was operated in nine different countries before being scrapped in 1970. 2) The F-15 Eagle: Developed from a McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II fighter prototype, the F-15 Eagle is one of America’s most iconic military jets and one of its most proven combat aircraft. First deployed to guard against Soviet air threats during the Cold War, the Eagle saw action in many wars including Desert Storm, Kosovo and Afghanistan. Over 1,500 have been produced since its introduction into service in 1991. 3) The KC-135 Stratotanker: A unique tanker Designed as an aerial refueling tanker for jet bombers, nicknamed “The Flying Fortress” due to its large size compared to other types of tankers at that time – it became one of America’s most common military assets after World War II thanks to its versatile capabilities and long range). Originally developed as part of Project Titan (a project led by Ishmael Parsons), it saw operational use from 1948 until 1973 when it was replaced by Boeing 747s standardised on Globemaster III bombing missions over North Vietnam (the last KC-135 flights were made between 1978 and 1979).

These planes were used both during World War II and the Korean War. ▪ 1948 - The USAF began purchasing jet aircraft, which made flying faster and farther more efficient than earlier types of planes. ▪ 1953 - The USAF developed the KC-135 Stratotanker aerial refueling tanker. This plane was originally designed to be used by the Air Force Reserve Command, but it soon became common within the military. ▪ 1959 - The USAF purchased six McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom fighter jets from McDonnell Aircraft Corporation in order to provide air superiority over land and sea targets. These planes were eventually retired in 1967, but they remain popular with air forces around the world today.
Beavercreek is a small town in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Beavercreek is one of the oldest communities in Ohio and has been inhabited by Native Americans for over two centuries. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Beavercreek were French traders who set up trading posts there in 1795. In 1802, General John Forbes built a fort here and named it Fort George after his father-in-law, George Rogers Clark. In 1804, the 2nd U.S. Infantry under Colonel James Kapp moved from Cincinnati to take up arms against Tecumseh on the Scioto River near present day Beavercreek. The battle resulted in a victory for American forces and marked the beginning of an uninterrupted military occupation of central Ohio by American troops until 1837 when Mexico took control of that region following its victory over Spain at Buena Vista Beach during the Mexican–American War (1846–48). During this time period, many millers reacted to increased production from new technologies such as canals and railroads with resistance to US rule which eventually led to annexation of much of Ohio by Mexico in 1853 which ended formal American rule there. Afterward, most residents reverted back to their traditional ways while recent arrivals bought into modern English culture which had started spreading throughout America during this time frame
In 1814, the area that is now Beavercreek was part of the Northwest Territory. In 1825, it became part of the new United States of America. Beavercreek's first settler was George Washington in 1797.
