Beachwood is a small town in the northeastern corner of Ohio, United States. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. It lies in the Sandusky Valley along the Muskingum River and is bordered to the northwest by Clifton Heights, to the northeast by Westlake and to the southeast by Kenton. The area now known as Beachwood was part of what was called Scioto County until 1827, when it became part of Beech Township. In 1837, Beachwood's founders were among those who founded Dayton. In 1853, Beachwood had a schoolhouse and two churches; one Episcopal and one Methodist. In 1861-1862, Beachwood also had a general store and post office. On July 3, 1865, Beachwood became part of Union County when that county was created from parts of Summit Township and Ottawa Township. On December 12th of that year, Union County passed an act providing for township lines to be drawn "along existing or future public roads" which would have included most of what is now beachWood including its present boundaries with Clifton Heights to the north (Clifton Heights then consisted only of a few dwellings on land parcel east of Muskingum River), Westlake to the northwest (the village now known as Fremont), Kenton to the northeast (the townships then consisting almost entirely of agricultural land) and part including today'sBeachWood southward along Muskingum River until it reached its present boundaries with Clifton Heights

Beachwood, Ohio is a small town in the northwestern part of the United States. It was founded in 1837 by Captain George Beach and his family. The population of Beachwood was 1,500 at the time of its incorporation. In 1910, Beachwood became a city. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 14,923. The first settlers to Beachwood were Captain George Beach and his wife Catherine (née Hargrave). They came from Somerset County, England in 1836 and started a farm on what is now Main Street. After they got married they moved to America with their three children: George Washington Beach, Jr., Eleanor (Nellie) beach and Herbert Augustus Beecham-Stratton. Captain George's brother John did some lumbering for a company that built the Erie Canal which connected Buffalo and Pittsburgh. When the canal was finished construction stopped because there were not any jobs available for anyone who had worked on it. So John Beach started trading with local tribes such as the Lenape so he could get his own business up and running again- this led to him becoming one of America's wealthiest men by 1840s when he sold land near where he now lives for $1 per acre! By 1850s most American farmers had abandoned cultivation due to increasing costs associated with buying inputs needed for agriculture like fertilizer and labor against free enterprise prices that prevailed at that time amoungst other countries such as Great Britain or Europe which only produced milk, meat or wool while Americans exported flour, hides and cotton! So Captain George decided to move back home to England where he would continue farming despite high transportation costs involved returning each year across country! Eventually Captain George met an English woman named Sarah Jane Dent who was moving westward along the Oregon Trail with her husband Austin Dent who eventually settled in Oregon City where she began working as librarian at Jefferson Barracks before eventually marrying US Army General Andrew Jackson who then became President! Sarah Jane Dent later remarried into another wealthy family name- Prentice- but this story does not end there as we will explore more about them below 🙂 In 1837 Captains George Bean & Catherine Hargrave set out from England aboard HMS Beagle under Captains James Cook & Robert Falcon Scott + 5 others including young Lt.(later Admiral) Arthur Phillip + Father[?] sailed on HM Bark Discovery for Australia journey making landfall at Botany Bay on 7 Nov.[AUS] 1735 ASP[Sydney Cove][7Nov 1735]+ landed = BEACHWOOD (west coast)
