Avon Lake is a town in the northwestern corner of Ohio, United States. The population was 9,717 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lima-Canton-Hamilton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Avon" comes from the French word for "bean" and "lake." The first coffeehouses were opened in 1796 by Nicholas Breuning and his brother Jacob Breuning in a log cabin on what is now State Route 8 near present day Avon Lake. Coffee beans were brought overland from Germany and Japan. As more people began to settle in Avon Lake, they set up shop around the local mill which ground coffee beans into powder forexport to Europe and other parts of the world. By 1830, there were six coffee shops located around Avon Lake with an average capacity of ninety gallons per hour. By 1836, there were eleven shops operating out of town with an average capacity of one thousand gallons per hour! In 1837, John Cope started selling single origin coffee from his farm outside Clermont Heights – long before Starbucks ever opened their doors! In 1840s–50s several Italian immigrants characterized as 'Cupons' started coming to work at various mills along river banks where they produced flour and sugar cane (cane sugar) refinery products that became popular among Americans during this time period as well as exported all over Western Europe. These men would take their families with them when they left their places of employment so that they could continue working alongside locals while living off their wages rather than going hungry or homeless like many others did during this time period

Avon Lake is a town in Carroll County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,615 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European to visit what is now Avon Lake was Giovanni da Verrazzano on his voyage around the world in 1524. He named it "Verrazano" after himself and landed there on July 4, 1526. During the Revolutionary War, General George Washington visited Avon Lake on September 22, 1775 while marching through Carroll County from Canandaigua north to Dayton and then east to Mahoning Valley. A post office called "Avon Lake" was established in 1814, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1932. The first store built in town was the Powell Store & Auction House which opened on November 6, 1821. Theodore Roosevelt's father Theodore had been living near Dayton when he became president of America in 1901 and decided to move upriver for more fun and relaxation during his presidency. He purchased land at Carillon Point southeast of downtown Dayton and startedbuilding a summer home there known as Oyster Bay Park where he spent many summers between 1901-1909 with his family before moving into White House (now The White House). In 1909 he donated this property to the city of Dayton so that it could become an open-air park ringed by high walls for public use only; later renamed Carillon Point Park after him. In 1933 much of Oyster Bay Park were destroyed by fire as part of renovations for The White House but some including Roosevelt's summer home remain today as part of Carillon Point Park Historic District
Avon Lake is a small village in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Middletown, OH-KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Village of Avon Lake was chartered on October 25, 1836 by vote of the residents of four hamlets that made up the area: Deer Park, Glen Mills, Hillsboro and Oak Hill. At first it consisted only of a few homes and anvil used for pounding coal from the local hills. By 1840 there were enough residents to have a store, blacksmith shop and schoolhouse. In 1845 oil was discovered near Dayton and businessmen quickly realized its potential as a commercial enterprise. The first production well was drilled in 1847 but due to lack of transportation most sales were made by boat or train to Cleveland. Avon Lake began fishing operations in 1896 when C P Beall started construction on what would become his largest fish pond ever located in Ohio. He named it "Lake Erie" after his native lakeland in Scotland where he had spent some time during his childhood summers before returning home to visit family members who lived on farmsteads along the shoreline thereabouts. Today's fishing industry is one of Avon Lake's main sources of income with about 60% being generated from angling alone while 40% comes from other activities such as boating and swimming; both are popular among visitors each year Avon Lake has two schools – Maplewood Elementary School which serves grades K-5th (grades 6th through 8th are available through charter) and Holy Cross Catholic School serving grades 9-12th (grades 7th through 12th are available through private school). There also is a community center which includes an amphitheater/stage/pool/dance floor used for events such as music festivals etc., as well as several beauty parlors including one operated by Sisters Grimm which provides daycare services for children up to 5 years old A variety of businesses have been established throughout Avon Lake over the years including bait stores, gas stations/cafes/, restaurants / cafes/, hardware stores etc.; all providing necessary staples like gasoline and supplies needed for Outdoor Activities such as Fishing & Hunting!, bird watching & photography opportunities; Many new businesses have opened up since 2010 due to economic development brought about byDemand for Housing developments!!!
