It was called The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Roastery. In 1995, the company changed its name to Gourmet Coffee Company. In 2002, Gourmet Coffee Company opened its first store outside of Ohio. It was called Gourmet Coffee Company - Europe Online Store. In 2006, the company changed its name to Arista Coffee Co., Incorporated.
Avon Lake is a town in Franklin County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Avon Lake was John Denton in 1824. He built a cabin on the east side of the lake and named it after himself and his wife, Anne (the name of one of the townships in which he lived). A post office called Dentonville was established in 1829, but no town developed around it. In 1835, Isaac Laubenstein bought land from David Ladd that served as the nucleus for what would become Avon Lake. Laubenstein built a log cabin on his property and christened it "Laubenheimer". In 1840, he sold additional land to James Fenton and Benjamin Smith. These men organized a company to purchase more land from Laubenheimer and build a gristmill on the west side of the lake. The mill became known as Fenton & Smith Mills. In 1845, avon@email was established as an email address by two local businessmen who had purchased some of Fenton & Smith's land along with other holdings to form what would become Avon Township (). In 1865-1866, George Wirths surveyed much of present-day Franklin County for Ohio Highway No. 3 (now I-271), which connected Cleveland with Dayton via route 2 (now I-675). One result of this survey was that Wirths designated what are now Avon Lake and its adjoining townships as part of Franklin County. The first courthouse inAvon Lake was constructed near where Main Street meets Michigan Avenue in 1870; it functioned until 1902 when an adjacent schoolhouse replaced it. A 10-mile long railroad line running throughAvon Lake opened up in 1912; this helped spur development around the town center and caused many homes to be erected along Michigan Avenue between 1913 and 1916 (). After World War II ended, aluminum production increased throughout Northeast Ohio due to wartime shortages; accordingly, many new housing developments were erected near various aluminum plants during this time (). As aluminum production slowed down during subsequent decades due to environmental concerns (), many residents moved away fromAvonLake during these years (); however, some remain here today . In 2000–2001 there were several large wildfires across Northeastern Ohio that burned over 300 acres () – one such incident made national news (). Afterwards., several hundred new housing units were completed withinin AvonLake (), including those surrounding Main Street () – marking a turnaround for the town since its heyday during those early years . Avondale is located just south of downtown Avondale off US 20/I-271 exit 8B/9A off ramps onto I-675 northbound just past milepost 168L/. According to Google Maps: "There's not really...a lot going on there."
