The United States Air Force (USAF) was founded on August 29, 1947 by the National Security Act of 1947. The USAF was created as a merger of the Army's Air Corps and the Navy's Naval Aeronautics and Space Administration. On April 25, 1949, President Harry S Truman signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act which provided for the creation of an air force. This act also allocated $50 million to be used in order to create an air arm within the USAF. On July 20, 1949, General Curtis LeMay became Director of Air Forces and Commander in Chief of USAAF forces worldwide. The first Boeing B-29 Superfortress bombers were delivered to RAF Lakenheath on October 15th 1951. In 1952 President Dwight D Eisenhower directed that all combat bombing operations in Europe be ended by September 1st or else all troops would have to be withdrawn from there before it could become a safe deterrent against nuclear attack from Russia or China. In 1957 generals Curtis LeMay and John Hyten were named Deputy Chiefs of Staff for Bomber Command with overall responsibility for strategic bomber forces within NATO while Vice Admiral Chester Nimitz took over operational control from Hyten at Pearl Harbor Naval Air Station Hawaii on December 5th 1958 until his retirement on May 15th 1959. In 1961 James Webb became Director of Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E) within DOD which was responsible for providing evaluations for weapons systems under development by both DOD & USAF programs such as Apollo 11 moon landing & space shuttle missions etc.. In 1968 Lyndon Johnson ordered Operation Neptune Spear which involved flying AmericanSuperfortresses into North Vietnam secretly without warning their South Vietnamese counterparts resulting in 36 kills including 13 Americans taken prisoner along with 500 tons of bombs dropped on them causing extensive damage including several reports estimating up to 90% loss of life with over 2 million Viet Cong killed during this operation). On July 26th 1969 General Maxwell Taylor became Deputy Commander-in-Chief USAFE responsible for all military activities worldwide other than Southeast Asia where he continued as Assistant Secretary Of Defense (Air Force/Space). On November 3rd 1970 Ulysses S Grant died after a long illness at 72 years old leaving behind two daughters who succeeded him as Senior Presidential Executives under the new system implemented by Gerald Ford who then appointed Lyman Beal Jradier Assistant Secretary Of War For Military Affairs effective January 20th 1971 who concurrently served as Chairman Of The Joint Chiefs Of Staff until his resignation effective March 3rd 1973 following allegations made against him affecting Pentagon security procedures during the Watergate burglary affair (& later impeachment trial). He had been replaced by Admiral Thomas Moorer who served until his death effective June 6th 1975 which left Lieutenant General Hurlbut commandant USAFE throughout its existence with sole authority for strategic bombing forces inside NATO apart from SEAs Western Hemisphere area although some functions formerly performed by Headquarters Allied Powers Europe still remain under His jurisdiction namely Strategic Missile Forces Command headquartered at Omaha Beach Normandy surrenders its command structure thereto effective September 17th 1983).

Aurora is a city in Lucas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 20,769 at the 2010 census. Aurora is the third-largest city in Lucas County after Cleveland and Akron. Auroras history can be traced back to 1792 when settler John Denton landed on the present site of Aurora with his family. The first documented reference to Aurora comes from an 1802 deed by Hawkins & others titled "Grant of Donation for Building of a School". The town began as a small trading post on the Scioto River but quickly grew into a fullfledged village due to land grants and other support systems from various jurisdictions. In 1824, Territorial Governor Zachary Taylor gave the town of Aurora its charter as an incorporated Village. In 1827, James Kapp purchased Lots 5 and 6 in what is now downtown Aurora from Nicholas Bigelow for $8 per acre (the price at which land was then available). This purchase marked the beginning of an important period in Auroras history as it allowed settlers access to tracts of quality land that would later become integral to its growth. From this point forward, aurorans constantly searched for new parcels of property where they could establish their own community. Over time, these acquisitions led to one ofauroras most successful business ventures – Kapp's Drug Store – which became one of Auroras mainstay businesses until it closed its doors in 1984. Aurora also experienced significant growth during the early years of Prohibition; by 1928, liquor sales had increased fivefold from what they were two years earlier. During this time period too there were many advancements made within the municipality including construction of both a school and hospitalStations like FirstEnergy Stadium (), home court for local college basketball teams (Marquette University), and much more helped contribute to Aurora’s vibrancy and success during prohibition decades ago today (). As prohibition faded away following World War II – responsible for mass migration across state lines affecting all aspects our economy – Auroras economy slowly stabilized thanks largely to advances made within manufacturing industries such as trucking services (+5% GDP growth rate between 1990-2005) while continuing strong investment into education (+10% GDP growth rate between 1990-2005). The community was founded in 1881 by farmers who migrated from western Pennsylvania. Aurora became an agricultural center due to its location at the intersection of two railroads, which made it accessible for growing crops and shipping goods to eastern markets. The community's status as an agricultural center continued until the early 20th century when industry took over as the predominant force in local life. In addition to its role as an agricultural center, Aurora also played a significant role in American history during this time period. In 1916, President Wilson visited Aurora and spoke at a school operated by local businessmen. This event helped solidify Aurora's place within America as an economic power.
