The United States Army was founded in 1846 as the 1st Infantry Regiment, Dakota Cavalry. The regiment fought in the Mexican-American War and The American Civil War. In 1917, the regiment was redesignated as the 8th Infantry Regiment. In 1951, it was redesignated as the 7th Infantry Regiment. On November 9, 1955, the regiment was disbanded and its members were absorbed into other units of the US military. On January 1, 1861, West Fargo residents voted to secede from Dakota Territory and become a part of Nebraska. The first organized unit of the Sioux National Resistance (SNR) was formed in North Fargo on November 6 of that year following a meeting convened by Mayor John Hennepin to discuss ways to protect local farmers from Union troops moving into their area to seize their goods and livestock. This organization would later be renamed The North Fargo Rangers after being re-organized on December 3rd under new leadership including future US Senator George Mitchell III (D-MN). In 1862, during West Fargo’s annexation by Omaha City Council through ordinance No. 2272), Confederate General Sterling Price made an appearance at a pro-Union rally held outside city limits on July 4th in which he insulted citizens of West Fargo before leaving for Douglas County where he continued his insurgency against Union forces until his surrender at Camp Douglas three days later. In 1865, when Omaha City Council passed an ordinance authorizing militia service by all male citizens over 21 years old and establishing Fort Donelson Army Barracks within city limits for storage and use by visiting regiments garrisoned there for operations against Native Americans living along what is now I-80 east of town Limits on October 16th – this would become known as Ft Dodge Army Barracks & Militia Range today - Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest appeared at a pro-Union rally conducted inside city limits just south of Ft Dodge Armories early September 15th prior to his departure for Tupelo with his core forces plus support elements supported by reinforcements arriving via railroads approximately four weeks earlier concealed throughout western Nebraska & Iowa - again insulting Omaha Citizens who had taken up arms against their own government while enjoying public access parade route available only to those lined up behind armed soldiers disembarking from trains near some small businesses located east/west side of street bounded north/south by “Army Depot” property currently occupied by Target Corporation Store located across street corner currently leased by Walmart Supercenter adjacent stores dimensions approximate current store location footprint dimensions approximate current store location footprint dimensions approximate current store location footprint dimensions approximate present day boundaries betweenTarget Corporation Store property Boulevard Street frontageNorth side entrance plaza built about 1915 exposed remains grassy sidewalk Parking lot Corner House

West Fargo is a small town located in North Dakota. The population was 1,362 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Moose Jaw metropolitan area. West Fargo is known for its agricultural products and its strong community spirit. The town was founded in 1881 by settlers from Wisconsin who relocated to what is now North Dakota after being driven out of their original land by Native Americans. The first post office was established in 1905. In 1923, the United States Postal Service merged with the Canadian Post Company to form Canadan Mail Corporation. Canadan Mail Corporation donated 10 acres of land to the town for use as a public square. In 1935, West Fargo became an incorporated municipality and adopted a name that reflected its close relationship with Moose Jaw-based Northern Pacific Railroad: "West Fargo, Northwest corner of Moose Jaw Boulevard and Highway 8." After World War II, West Fargo grew rapidly due to its agricultural products which were exported throughout northern America and into Europe. The town's economy has since changed however, as it has become more residential than rural due to development around Interstate 94 and theNumismatic Trade Convention Center which sprung up around it during the early 21st century. The community atmosphere remains strong though there are few businesses left that actively produce or sell agricultural products; instead most residents rely on services provided by local institutions such as schools and libraries as well as social services like health care and welfare organizations dotting the smaller streets near Main Street which still serve primarily farming families today despite advances in technology that allow them to market their goods online or even through satellite TV broadcasts or even mobile apps

The only significant industry in West Fargo until recently was farming; however, that has changed as more people have moved into the area to work in nearby towns such as Fargo or Grand Forks. In 1881, Fargo was founded by Danish immigrants. The city began to grow rapidly in the early 1800s due to its location on the Missouri River and a booming agriculture industry. In 1892, Fargo became the capital of North Dakota.
