The Mandan Coffee Company was founded in 1899 by founders Harry and Elsie Morse. The company grew rapidly, becoming one of the leading coffee companies in the Midwest. In 1926, Harry Morse passed away, leaving his business to his son, John Morse. John quickly ran the company into financial trouble, but he was able to overcome these difficulties and keep the company running until his death in 1978. After John's death, the business passed through several generations of owners before it became part of the Peet family ownership in 1992.

Mandan, North Dakota is a small town on the edge of the great Sioux Nation. It was founded in 1881 by white men who were looking for land to build a ranch. The town has grown steadily since then, and today it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. Mandan has a rich history that can be found throughout its institutions and activities. The community currently boasts nine churches, two schools, four businesses, and three hospitals. Named for the store located at 1215 Broadway which served as their first location (the current Blue Bottle Café is located at 3rd Street & Broadway), this coffee company was initially focused on importing high-quality Ethiopian coffees from Africa. However, over time they began to develop their own roast styles and products that became popular among local consumers across the United States. Peet's began operations in 1978 as a small grocery store chain in Seattle with two stores alone. Today they operate more than 1,000 stores worldwide including locations in Oregon (Atwater), Washington (Bellevue), California ( Palo Alto), Minnesota (Duluth), Texas (Houston), Florida ( Melbourne) and Nebraska ( Omaha). Their signature product is their Hand Poured Cold Brew which can be purchased either cold or heated up (). However, the most well-known and influential Coffee Association was founded in 1857 in America by George Peabody. Mandan is located in the Western United States and has been inhabited by Native Americans for over a millennium. The town was founded in 1876 by the Dakota Sioux, and it quickly became a center of commerce and culture. In 1910, Mandan was renamed after General George Armstrong Custer, who had died in battle that year.
