The years following World War II were difficult for Fargo as many industries relocated away or closed down but through collaboration between government agencies and business leaders it slowly recovered. Today’s skyline reflects not just the successes of previous decades but also advances made since then including technology companies such as Google Fiber which have brought new life to downtown during busy times (such as Christmas). In recent years there has been additional growth potential announced for downtown including plans for an arena/parking garage/mall combination; however much work still needs to be done before this can become a reality.
