The first espresso machine was invented in Italy in 1810 by Antonio Bussone. This machine used hot water and ground beans to make espresso drinks. In 1850, Italian Luigi Bezzera developed a printing press that could print small prints using wood pulp for newspapers and other publications. This allowed for the mass production of coffee without having to go through large warehouses or long lines at local cafes. In 1912, Swissman Felix Baer created the world’s first commercial espresso machine at his café in Zurich, Switzerland. With this machine, Baer became the first person to create Italian-style cappuccinos with milk foam and sugar syrup added directly to the shot glasses during service. This madeBaer one of the earliest proponents of cafe culture in Europe. By 1938, Starbucks had started making its own coffee products under the name “Seattle Coffee Company” which helped bring java back into popular culture across North America

The name change came about because of the presence of coal mining activity near the community. The original courthouse building still stands today and serves as both municipal and judicial headquarters for Harnett County. In 1957, construction began on what would become known as "the Big One" – one of America's largest steel mills – which eventually created many local jobs during its growth period.
