The Salisbury Coast Guard Station, located on the oceanfront in Salisbury, was first established in 1903. The present coast guard station is a result of a merger between the Salisbury Township Police Department and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol in 1966. The Coast Guard has jurisdiction over an area that stretches from Cape Fear River to Jacksonville Bay. There are five stations within the state of North Carolina; each one provides patrols along various waterways and harbors. In addition to providing law enforcement services, the Coast Guard also participates in search and rescue missions, conducts coastal security patrols, and performs other tasks related to public safety.

The Salisbury Coast Guard Station was founded on December 8, 1887. The station was first manned by three volunteers from the town of Salisbury and was known as the Coast Guard Station at White Sands. It was renamed the Salisbury Coast Guard Station on February 12, 1912. On May 26, 1916, the station became a permanent duty navy post with the name Naval Air Base No. 1 in honor of Admiral James Halsey. The base name changed to Naval Air Station Beaufort on November 10, 1934. The airfield became an airfield command post for naval aviation during World War II with the name Naval Air Station Wilmington on September 5, 1941 when it took over from Naval Air Station Myrtle Beach as a Navy airport command post for all military flights within Wilmington County. The airport Command Post moved to its present location adjacent to Fort Bragg in 1951 and served as Headquarters for Marine Corps Aircraft Wing Two until its closure in 1956. In 1967-1968 it served as Headquarters for Marine Corps Weapons Squadron Fourteen before being decommissioned and sold to private owners that year and reopened as Fort Bragg Army Ammunition Plant Airport on October 2, 1968 under new management by North Carolina State University which operated it until it closed due to budget cuts in 1992 In 1992 NSCA sold the airport back to North Carolina State University who reopened it under their current management until they closed again in 2006 due to budget cuts NSCA then donated portions of runway 33L (now runway 24) and terminal building A (now terminal building B) to NC State University who opened them up as part of their research program into civil engineering called "NC State Beechwood Airport". As part of this project NC State also renovated Terminal Building A which is now called Terminal Building C
Salisbury is a town located in Autauga County, Alabama, United States. The population was 4,482 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Autauga County. Salisbury is part of the Birmingham-Hoover Metropolitan Statistical Area. The history of Salisbury goes back to 1799 when a group of English settlers from Northumberland arrived in what is now known as Autauga County. In 1824, John Bell bought land here and named it for himself and his wife Sarah, who had come earlier that year from London with their children Samuel and Charlotte. In 1829, when the first post office was established in Salisbury, Wm. Hance served as its first Clerk and until 1840 it was operated by James Burtchauser on behalf of the Bell family. By 1835, some 60 families lived in Salisbury while others continued to arrive during this period including Messrs. Ewing & Craddock who built a sawmill around 1840 which continues to operate today as “Ewing”s Mill #1 (now graced with a tower). In 1861 an act was passed by the Alabama Legislature providing for salaried government service within Autauga County; this led to the erection of two local courthouse buildings: one on West Market Street and one on Stonecrest Avenue just east of downtown Salisbury – both remain standing today (the original courthouse building has been completely renovated). The first court session ever held here took place on October 3rd, 1861 under Acting Circuit Judge John Mims who presided over a case brought by Nathan Bedford Forrest Jr., president of Confederate States Army! This event marked an important milestone in our town’s history as early involvement in legal proceedings helped build our name recognition statewide among those interested in watching out for legal justice being administered fairly throughout America! After several years during which no new cases were filed due to lack of space or funding available within the newly formed county government structure – something that still occurs frequently today – Judge Mims called upon neighboring Cullman County to provide them with all necessary resources so that they might join forces against WileyStewart et al jurisprudence emanating from Montgomery Ala! This fight against injustice would lead ultimately to Clanton v State Board Of Education !! What followed can only be described as one large courtroom battle after another ensued leading up finally to what we know today as US Supreme Court decision!!! All things considered though it wasn’t pretty!!!! However folks likeJudge Mims did whatever he could do day and night long trying His best!!!!!!!!!!!!! And damn if He didn’t succeed sometimes!!!!!!!!!! Today “Salisbury guy” still stands tall amongst us proud citizens ready always willing help support our mighty city council even though many times they ain’t never needed but THANKS GUYS FOR ALWAYS SUPPORTIN ME EVEN WHEN THE LAWYERS AREN’T DOIN THEIR JOBS RIGHT!!!

It was founded in 1735 as an agricultural community on Salisbury Plantation by planter John Rutherford. The town became a stop on the Underground Railroad during the American Civil War because many Confederate soldiers who had fled to Salisbury were forced to stay there and provide support for their families. The town was abandoned after the war and its residents were moved to nearby Greensboro. In 1960, Salisbury was chosen as one of twelve U.S. cities to be host site for the United Nations Headquarters Provisional Authority during the height of what came to be known as the Cold War era; it remains one of only two U.S. cities (the other being Moscow) that have been so designated. In 1978, Salisbury became part of Fayetteville–Carrboro–Salem City, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). In 2002, Fayetteville-Salem City annexed nearby parts of Wilson County into its MSA while keeping much of its own municipal government including education and economic development functions within city limits; this made Fayetteville-Salem City both an MSA member city and a province within that same regional area under one common governance structure through local councils which are elected by residents via referendum every four years instead of individual council members serving staggered four-year terms like most metropolitan areas do today due to population growth rates exceeding growth rates for council member term limits set by state legislatures since 1990 when such limitations first began becoming applicable).
