Rocky Mount, North Carolina is a town in Davidson County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. Rocky Mount is home to the Rocky Mount Coffee Company and the Rocky Mount Creamery. The first coffee warehouse in Rocky Mount opened in 1892. The business that became known as Rockymount Coffee Company started out as a small-scale grocery store on Trade Street in downtown Rocky Mount. In 1906, J.F. Hecht bought the store and moved it to its present location on Fourth Avenue near US 421. It had been there since 1912 when J.F.'s father founded Hecht's Grocery Co., which later merged with J&J’s Grocery Stores to form Hecht’s-J&J Incorporated (later Rockmount Coffee). In 1957, RKO Radio Corporation purchased the business from Hecht for $1 million cash and assets including land on Trade Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenues which would become their new corporate headquarters for television marketing operations across all U S Radios including WSM-TV (NBC), WMAR (ABC), KPOQ-FOX (PBS) among others until they were sold off in 1984 to CBS Radio Corporation who moved their Corporate Headquarters from New York City to Charlotte following their purchase of FM radio station WBFF-LP/WNCN (NBC) thereby becoming one of CBS Radio's " independents." In 1990, after years of discussion by management over whether or not to sell the business again due à la carte pricing during the times of CD music sales making it difficult for customers who wanted more than two cups of coffee at a time - finally it was decided that no sale could take place given that Rockmount was one of only two independentlyowned coffee businesses left within CBS RADIO CORPORATION'S RADIO NETWORK OPERATIONS - also remaining until 1994 WECT/WTTE/(CW) Broadcasting company - but this time under new ownership as Appalachian Telesis Broadcasting Company LLC before being sold again in 2000 to Global Telesis Satellite Communications Incorporation before eventually being sold again in 2006 back into Global Telesis Satellite Communications Incorporation by current owner Mountain Dew Enterprises LLC.- thus leaving behind an long tradition rich with history and culture associated with coffee consumption rocky mount

Rocky Mount is a town in North Carolina. The population was 9,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greensboro-Highpoint-Catawba Metropolitan Statistical Area. Rocky Mount is located on the Hogan River, about 25 miles (40 km) northeast of Greensboro. The first inhabitants of what is now Rocky Mount were Native Americans who built lodges near present-day Greenville and Rutherford counties in 1795. A post office called Rocky Mount was established in 1824, and remained in operation until 1888. The town site was surveyed by Arthur Blair in 1835, and named for General John C. Smith, who had come to Orange County from Tennessee that year to help lead an army against rebels under Thomas Ruffin. In 1838, land grants were made to eight families—the Epps, Hardsons, Johnsons, Lincolns, Noleses, Pottsills etc.—all of whom erected plantations near where they now sit: Hardee’s Plantation became known as Rocky Mount while others such as Johnston’s Ferry Landing and Mail Road Landing became known as New Hope or Elizabethtown or simply Old Towne (now Elizabethtown). In 1860–61 Confederate troops burned much of the community during their march through South Carolina; James Waddell rebuilt most of what remains today following this event. In 1865 Union soldiers besieged Rocky Mount during the Battle of Gettysburg; after two days it surrendered without resistance although some stores were looted before being burned down by Confederate forces later that day. A post office called Rockymount was established on February 10th 1861 with GEOFFREY JONES as Postmaster During World War II Rockymount served as a satellite camp for Camp Hill which operated within Grand Army Plaza between December 1945 and May 1946
