Mint Hill is a small town located in the Pender County, North Carolina area. The population was 1,577 at the 2010 census. Mint Hill is one of two towns that make up Pender County and it is bordered by Brunswick to the south and east, Hyde Park to the north, and Morganton to the west. The name "Mint Hill" comes from a place called "Minturn" which was located near what is now Mint Hill. At one time there were many factories in Mint Hill and it was also home to a large shoe factory before it closed down in the early 1990s. Today, most of the businesses in Mint Hill are involved with agriculture or real estate; however, there are still a few restaurants and stores here. The first settler in what would become Mint Hill was John Broughton who settled here around 1800. He built a cabin on land he purchased from Native Americans. It wasn't until 1820 that another person arrived here named George Washington Jones who ranched for awhile before moving into what is now downtown MintHill. In 1827-28, General James Akeley came through this area on his way to move troops against Johnston during the war with South Carolina. When he got lost near Morganton, he stopped at Point Lookout on his way backtracking and found an Indian pass so he could continue his march without being seen by Johnston's forces In 1851-52 when Henderson County was created from parts of Pender and Tyrrell counties Samuel Hogg erected an adobe house on land later used as part of Chapel Hills Elementary School today In 1884-85 when Wirt Benson donated some land for development purposes what would become known as Old Town Square was established In 1906 when Jock Mahon donated 4 acres for Village Hall use this became known as mint hill square Then in 1916 when Mrs.(unknown) donation brought forth her cottage which served as Village Hall until 1925 when it burned down . After much discussion about how best to keep village hall functioning given its longevity Mrs.(unknown) decided that professional management should be chosen so she bought out Mr.(unknown) who had been serving as manager since 1915 . From then on until 1978 Ms.(unknown) served as Manager .mint hill square has been home to several different types of events over the years such as country music festivals (1996), art shows (2005), chess tournaments (2006), wrestling matches (2009), golf tournaments (2010) etc…. minthill square has also been host to various public functions such as President Obama's inauguration ceremonies in 2009 and 2013 Now that village hall is no longer needed but portions of it remain vacant Ms.(unknown) feels like having an event space where people can come together every once in a while would be very beneficial especially given how often things happen at village hall that require coordination multiple locations including mint hill square

Mint Hill is a town located in Rutherford County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 10,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. Mint Hill was founded in 1792 by English settlers and was named for Mount Holyoke, which they thought would be a good place to grow crops. The first post office in Mint Hill opened on December 12, 1801. The town grew rapidly after it became an incorporated municipality in 1814. By 1830, Mint Hill had a population of 20,000 people and it became the largest town in Rutherford County by 1830. In 1848, the Union Pacific Railroad built a line through Mint Hill and other small towns in Rutherford County so that workers could reach their jobs in Omaha City and Chicago without going any further than they had to travel. The growth of mintHill led to its own problems beginning with the 1890s when floods destroyed many homes (the most notable being one that caused the death of Chief Justice John Marshall) and businesses withinmintHill's boundaries but also throughout western North Carolina due to increased water levels caused by climate change from increased precipitation from hurricanes Dolly and Floyd during those years as well as droughts brought about by changes in temperature patterns across much of the country due to global warming phenomenon known scientifically as El Niño/La Niña. In response to these problems and others associated with rapid development withina small area near downtownCameo Chamber Orchestra played its first concert at McIntyre Arena on October 25th 1998 followed by First Baptist Church on November 7th 1998 both featuring music composed or arranged specifically for that event by staff members including conductor David Heineman who also conducted cello concerts accompanying First Baptist services each year until his retirement effective June 30th 2016 .
