Collier's company grew quickly into one of the leading coffee roasters in America. He served as President and CEO of The Roasters Corporation for more than 30 years before he passed away in 1987.during his lifetime, Collier have donated more than $100 million to various organizations including scholarships for young people who are interested in pursuing a career in foodservice or agriculture. In 1904, the town had a population of 5,000 and became an important center for cotton production in the region. After a shortage of cotton in 1910 due to overproduction by European farmers, Lewisville began to experience economic prosperity as a result of its role as an agricultural center. The town experienced major growth during World War II as many residents joined forces with other American towns to produce munitions for the war effort. In recent years, however, Lewisville has seen decreasing economic activity and increasing crime rates. As a result, the city council voted to dissolve itself on July 1st, 2019 after more than 20 years without any real change or growth within its borders. This led to increased tensions between locals and government officials which have continued into 2020 with no clear solution in sight for either party involved

Lewisville is located on the Yadkin River and is part of the Greensboro–Winston-Salem Combined Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what would become Lewisville was Eli Whitney, who built a cabin in 1821 on land now within the city limits of Greensboro. Whitney's son, John Lewis, also built a cabin there in 1825. In 1829, two brothers from Scotland named Alexander Macdonald and Angus Macdonald founded a trading post and farm called "Macdonald's Corner." They naming their original settlement after their father: "Lewisville" (after his late brother). A Methodist Episcopal church was organized by Reverend James Ladd at Lewisville in 1830; it served as the town's first meeting hall until 1852 when a new courthouse was erected downtown. The pastor of that first Methodist church was Rev. Drury Frye (died 1865). A store opened at Lewisville by Elisha Harris soon afterward to provide goods for local farmers and miners working in Surry County gold mines starting around 1850 When coal became available for mining near Mount Airy about 1870s settlers began moving into what would become Lewisville from surrounding counties including Randolph and McDowell due to its good water supply, cheap land prices and easy access to railroads across North Carolina which brought improved transportation conditions to the area Making Lewisville one of those most heavily populated places along with Hickory City during this time period In 1871 Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest marched throughsurrycountyfrom Radcliffton north to Roanokevilleno Armstrong’s Mill where he burned all but four houses before marching back home leaving behind food for his army . Aftermathofthe戦争 many people fled northeast towards Raleigh or west into Virginia because they didn't want to be caught up in war After Reconstruction ended many people returned home while other families moved out looking for new opportunities In1887 Mrs Frances Crain started growing corn on her family’s farm east of town nextdoorto Hersey Winespring until she got letters from some ladies down south saying they were getting hungry so she started stocking up on groceries herself which allowed her business to grow even more
