The Kernersville Army National Guard has been deploying to support the United States Military for over sixty years. With a rich history of service, the unit has a wide variety of gift options available to its members and their families. One of the earliest deployments was in World War II when the Kernersville Unit served in Europe as part of The 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment. After the war, the unit deployed to Korea and Vietnam where they played an important role in both wars. In 1981, when The 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment disbanded, Kernersville's Army National Guard took its place. As part of The 2nd Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), IKEA soldiers from Dandridge were deployed to Kuwait in 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. As part ofOperation Enduring Freedom – Afghanistan we sent Christmas gifts to Soldiers and their families at Forward Operating Bases throughout Afghanistan on November 25th and December 6th 2006. In 2010, 3rd Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) was activated with 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airland) being reactivated with 3rd Brigade Combat Team located at Fort Bragg NC being deployed deployment in Iraq as part of Operation New Dawn/OIF-Iraqi campaign which lasted until May 2011. From October 15-November 8th 2011 3rd Brigade Combat Team located at Fort Hood AR conducted classified training on how best use Force Protection Equipment while also providing humanitarian relief supplies through Inter Air Ambulance flights via RAF Lakenheath England . The objective was provide medical aid for civilians trapped between Baghdad and Tal Afar due to fighting between insurgents and security forces; This flew under cover of UAV’s On January 20TH 2012 it was announced that brigade headquarters would be moved from Fletcher Georgia to North Carolina after being vacant for almost two years! Kernersville is a small town in the Eastern North Carolina hills, population 8,000 residents. It is located about twenty miles east of Raleigh and thirty-five miles north of Charlotte. The town was founded by General James Fenton in 1819 and named for him. Kernersville has a post office, fire engine, and ambulance service. The Piedmont School District serves Kernersville. The town is known for its corn products, which are exported to other parts of the United States. In addition to cornproduction, Kernersville also produces apples (the most common variety), peaches, plums, grapes, vegetables (zucchini and cucumbers), tobacco, eggs, cheese products (cottage cheese and blue cheese), whiskey distilleries ( whiskeys from Maker’s Mark bourbon to Zacapa rum) and lumberjacks who harvest trees for lumbering purposes. The Kernersville Manufacturing Company made T-bars for American automobiles in the 1920s and still makes some of these items today as part of their manufacturing process

During the Revolutionary era, soldiers in America began to demand more rights than had been granted to them by their European allies. This led to a change in government and a need for an organized military to support these new values. The first unit formed as a result of this demand was the Continental Army. The Continental Army consisted of men from different parts of America, who were united by their desire for independence from Great Britain. World War I was another large event that shaped the future of the modern army. After much debate, Congress passed legislation authorizing the United States Military Academy (USMA) in 1875. This institution would later become one of the leading military schools in America. USMA quickly became known as one ofAmerica’s most prestigious institutions, educationally and militarily speaking.
On 8/10/2018, the United States Army deployed an armored convoy to Kuwait. The convoy was composed of two tanks, four Humvees, and eleven other vehicles. The gift was given to King Abdullah II of Kuwait in memory of United States military veterans who have served in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Kernersville is a town in Vance County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 9,869 at the 2010 census. Kernersville is one of the most culturally rich towns in Vance County and home to many unique businesses and attractions. The first European settlers in what is now Kernersville were French-Canadian traders who came to the area during the mid-1700s. In 1781, George Washington and his forces destroyed a British military encampment near present-day Kernersville after a three-week battle that ended with only one casualty on either side. In 1819, John Broughton founded Broughton's Mill on the White River near present day Kernersville. This milling community continued to grow until it burned down in 1851 due to arson by local farmers. The mill was rebuilt several times before being purchased by J.C. Penney in 1902 and eventually becoming part of Sears Roebuck & Co.'s store empire which included more than 100 stores across America before its bankruptcy in 2015. In 1878, James Hargrave opened Hargrave's Drug Store on Main Street in what is now Kernersville for business purposes only; he did not name the town after himself or build any structures within it until years later when he donated land for this purpose. The drugstore remains one of the town's most iconic landmarks today and has been used as a museum since its opening (although it no longer sells drugs). In 1912, an amusement park called "Prairie Park" was built adjacent to Hargrave's Drug Store off US 421/421A east of downtown Kernersville (later renamed "Kernerville"). The park had two features: a waterpark with slides and an amphitheater with live music performances every evening from early summer through late fall; and miniature golf courses for children between May 1st through October 31st inclusive (the course changes every year). After months of development and construction by Mayor Waddell Higginbotham, Prairie Park opened to public use on October 6th, 1912 - just days shy of World War I! It would be closed indefinitely due to financial difficulties 2 years later but reopened under new management soon afterwards as "Prairie Gardens". The amusement park closed again following World War II but reopened as "Civic Arena" in 1951 after being sold back to Higginbotham once again - this time operating successfully as a shopping center until its closure in 1984 due to budget cuts affecting all Vance County government layoffs at that time including those at Prairie Parkmedia Corporation which operated both parks concurrently until their closure also that year resulting in much sadness among residents of both communities during these difficult times) Thereafter civic arena became known simply as 'The Forum' which remained open commercially throughout ensuing decades up until finally closing its doors permanently upon completion of redevelopment plans announced by mayor Donny Moran late last year - reverting back once again back into residential use onceagain!)
