"We want our customers to feel like part of our community," said co-founder Sean Buschman during his opening remarks at the café's launch event. "We want them to feel like they're sitting down with friends."

High Point is a town in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 5,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Raleigh–Durham Metropolitan Statistical Area. One of the earliest European settlements in what is now North Carolina was made at High Point by white settlers from Virginia in 1755. A post office called High Point was established in 1780, and remained in operation until 1885. The town site was assigned to Cabarrus County on February 7, 1847 by act of the General Assembly. The first school building (a log cabin) was built in High Point about 1830 by Methodist missionary Rev. Jno. Bicknell, who also served as teacher and principal until his death in 1836. In 1854 a brick school house replaced the original wood building; it burned down September 12, 1865 but was rebuilt and used as a church until 1957 when it became known as First Presbyterian Church (now High Point Baptist). In 1865 Confederate troops under Genl Robert Ewell destroyed several stores and homes near present-day downtown during their raid on Carrboro before retreating across the Catawba River to Fort Bragg south of Durham; high point came within range of artillery fire from that fortress which did little damage but killed two people and caused extensive damage to many buildings including a cotton gin which still stands today beside Post Office Square on US Highway 26 about one mile east of downtown High Point proper. A new courthouse complex (completed 1888) sat on an old mill pond north of present day Main Street between Greenville Road and Powerline Road for more than twenty years after its construction; however much water seeped through masonry walls due to poor design aspects resulting in major leakage issues that ultimately led to its abandonment some time after 1990 when repair work finally began following Hurricane Floyd’s landfall there late that year with resultant flooding which greatly impacted business activity around Main Street leading eventually to its closure effective September 14th 1996 although portions have been reopened over time including most recently during the recent economic downturn while still technically closed due to trespassers having access) prior thereto had become a popular spot for picnics taking place adjacent thereto often involving swimsuits or other clothing among friends while overlooking Lake Waccamaw beyond complete anonymity somewhat resembling yesteryear Decatur Park located adjacent thereto complete with picnic tables typically situated along both banks thereof although park hours are currently limited viz 10 am - 4 pm SCOPE: This paper seeks general research purposes only not specific conclusions

High Point, North Carolina is a town in Stanly County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,554 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Raleigh–Durham Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1837 by residents of Chapel Hill who were relocated from Lexington, Kentucky because of the construction of the Nashboro Canal. High Point has been a center for education and industry since its founding; it is home to both UNC-CH (the University of North Carolina) and Duke University. The area now known as High Point was first settled by Native Americans; it was called "Canaanoke" because canoes could be seen coming and going from the fort they built there. The first white settlers arrived in High Point in 1837 when George Washington Baird, Jr., purchased land east of what is now Highway 421 near present day Fort Mitchell Boulevard. Baird's son George Washington Baird III developed what would become High Point into a thriving community with cotton plantations and mills. In 1845, John Leland sold him 1/4 acre (0.3 km2) on present day Hendersonville Road for $25 to make way for an oil well that would later become FirstEnergy Corp.'s Hendersonville Processing Plant complex (now known as NC Power). At this time, the territory encompassing modern-day High Point included portions of Stanly County including today's southeast corner on Hendersonville Road within what are now Durham County and western portion of Wake County
The area now known as High Point was first settled by the Cherokee in the early 1800s. In 1827, the British established a post at what is now High Point, and in 1830, they founded Fortiethousand acres (24 square miles) of central North Carolina as part of their Indian Removal Policy. The fort served as a military base and trading post until 1837 when it was abandoned because of tensions between Britain and the United States over Indian affairs. In 1865, General Jubal Early's Confederate army invaded North Carolina and destroyed much of Fortiethousand acres (24 square miles) of central North Carolina in what is called the Battle of Greensboro. This event helped launch the American Civil War and ultimately led to victory for Confederate forces.
