The shop was originally called The Cafe on Elm Street. Today, the cafe operates as a signature restaurant with located inside of Burlington's City Hall building. The first coffee beans were roasted at The Cafe in 1892. Over time, the shop has become known for its unique and delicious coffee products. Burlington, North Carolina is a small town located in the state of North Carolina. The population of Burlington was 11,569 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Greensboro-Winston-Salem metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1792 by Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene and his brother Jameson Greene. The first store in Burlington opened its doors on May 6, 1792. The town rapidly grew due to its location and access to transportation, including roads leading directly to Charlotte and Raleigh. In 1820, Burlington became one of two towns in North Carolina to be granted a charter by the state government. Some people believe that the first small batch coffee was produced in 16th century Ethiopia. There are however no records of this type of coffee being brewed in this country until the 1800s.

Burlington, North Carolina is a small town located on the banks of the Yadkin River in Union County. The population was 1,602 at the 2000 census, and 2,098 at the 2010 census. Burlington is part of the Raleigh-Durham metropolitan area. The town was founded by farmers in 1819 as a trading post on the Yadkin River. In 1828, Burlington became an independent city with its own government and police force. The city experienced rapid growth after it annexed neighboring towns in 1873 and 1886. The city's economy depended on agriculture until after World War II when manufacturing took over as Burlington's primary industry. Afterward, Burlington has become a center for arts and entertainment, including several performing arts venues and two large hotels/resorts.

Burlington was founded in 1764 by General James Moores as a trading post on the Catawba River. The town grew rapidly, and by 1820 it had become the largest settlement in North Carolina.
