The ship was part of the New York squadron which fought against the British fleet at Battle of Salamanca. In 1865, the Constitution sailed to Japan as part of Commodore Perry's relief effort following the Sino-Japanese War. She arrived at Yokohama on September 15 and remained there until December 7. On December 8, she sailed for San Francisco with her passengers and cargo, reaching California on January 14, 1866.
West Haverstraw is a small town in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population was 3,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the East Rutherford–Middletown Micropolitan Statistical Area. The name "West Haverstraw" is derived from an English word meaning "farmstead on the way to Haverstraw". The first white settlers in West Haverstraw were Captain John Smith and his party who arrived in 1664. In 1798, General James Clinton moved his army through West Haverstraw following their victory at Saratoga over the British forces under Cornwallis. Clinton's army rested at Poughkeepsie until they could move forward again on September 12th; this time they took up position at White Plains before moving forward to Plattsburgh on October 13th. On November 14th General George Washington marched into Plattsburgh and began his campaign against British forces commanded by Lieutenant-General John Sullivan which ended with the Battle of Ramseur on December 17th where Washington's troops routed Sullivan's force and captured more than 200 prisoners including Generals Gates and Howe. In 1814, during President James K.—Kansa's military expedition against Missouri River forts, Colonel Elijah Mills located a tract of land that became what is now known as West Haverstraw. When Kansas Territory was organized in 1821, Mills donated 4 acres (1 km2) of land west of Center Street to each township within its jurisdiction for school purposes only – all other uses were forbidden without written consent from both he and neighboring townships! Today Frontenac High School - one of two schools serving West Haverstrand - owes its existence to Mills' gift! On July 8th 1827 Adam DeWitt married Jessie Chapman who had been born in Auburn, New York to Timothy Chapman and Rebecca Readington Chapman; they lived in Troy before moving to West Egg Cove near Horseheads Lake where they started their own farmstead known as Warrenton Manor which soon attained a reputation as one of the best cornfields in New York State! After Adam died in 1850 she continued living there with her three children until her death in 1880 age 88 years old! Her son Milton then purchased her estate which he divided between him and his daughters Alice Bancroft (1884-1966), Betty Compton (1886-1976), Anne Kilpatrick (1900-1987) & Nancie Morris (1902-1983). To this day much remains about Warrenton Manor including but not limited to: original fences around property; well preserved period architecture; extensive gardens dating back to late 1800s; many fine examples of Tiffany glassware & Tiffany lamps still extant (& exhibited); descendants continue summersberry picking operation complete with 1920s tractor/blower power equipment used for purpose unique amongst such activities today

West Haverstraw is a small town in Upstate New York, located on the banks of the Hudson River. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Adirondack Park and is home to both West Haverstraw State Park and Haverstraw Landing National Historical Site. The town was founded in 1784 by George Washington and his family as part of a land grant from King George III. The first settlers were farmers who grew corn, beans, potatoes, and other crops. William Livingston purchased some of the land in 1802 and called it West Haverstown after his home town in New Jersey. In 1822, Congress passed an act annexing what is now East Greenbush Township to West Haverstraw. In 1846-47, during the American Civil War, many men from West Haverstraw enlisted in the Union army and fought for their country. One such man was John Prentice who served as lieutenant colonel for Company K (Highland Guards) on Long Island Sound at Plattsburgh where he helped liberate slaves from a plantation near Schenectady. After war ended, Prentice returned to West Haverston to help raise money for his regiment which had been disbanded there. In 1875-76, residents voted to change their name to West Haverstraw State Park commemorating its role in statehood ceremonies that year.
