Watertown, New York is a city located in the Bronx borough of New York City. The population was 77,521 at the 2010 census. It has been nicknamed "The coffee capital of the world". Watertown was founded in 1795 as a small trading post on the east bank of the Hudson River by Captain Jonathan Edwards and his partner Nicholas Partridge. The town grew rapidly during the 1800s, thanks to its location on two key trade routes: the Genesee and Mohawk Rivers. In 1824, Watertown became an incorporated village with a government that consisted of a mayor and six-member board of trustees. In 1827, Watertown became part of New York State after it was separated from Manhattan. During World War II, Watertown played an important role in supporting military efforts in Europe by providing goods and services such as lumber and munitions. After the war ended, water supplies were improved and new businesses were established including supermarkets and restaurants. Today, Watertown remains one of America's most vibrant downtown cores with several high-quality coffee shops and cafes along Broadway Street between Pearl Street and First Avenue North.

Watertown is a town in Sullivan County, New York, United States. The population was 13,564 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1795 by Nicholas Coleridge and named for Mount Hope (now part of Albany),New York. Watertown became a city in 1825 and again in 1898.
Watertown is a small town in upstate New York, located on the border of Lake George and Albany. The population was 12,819 at the 2010 census. It lies in the westcentral part of the towns of Saratoga and Schenectady counties. The original village site was near what is now Watertown Center. A post office called "Watershed" was established in 1824, and remained in operation until 1955. During the American Revolutionary War, many soldiers who were captured living as garrison troops in Albany camps passed through Watertown on their way back to England. Watertown was initially settled by Loyalists from Ulster County who had fled during the English Revolution. The first settlers were men from Newtowne Village, a hamlet east of present-day Watertown Center on Mohawk River. In 1795, John Loudon purchased land comprising present-day Watertown from Nicholas Biddle for US$5 per acre (about £0.50 per square foot). At that time, it consisted primarily of brush and woodslips along the Mohawk River shoreline. Loudon started construction on his new home near present-day downtown Watertown in 1796/97 and named it Loudoun House after himself and his brother-in-law Colonel Thomas Loudoun (1748–1825), an officer with British forces during the Revolution who later served as Governor of New York Colony (1784–88). By 1800, most residents of Loudoun House had moved away to establish other homes around town; only a few retainers stayed behind to maintain property taxes and services such as lighting streetlights. In 1814, when Alexander Hamilton became Vice President under James Ketchum's administration as part of President Monroe's cabinet reorganization following Andrew Jackson's election as president, he recommended that Washington D.C.'s Executive Mansion be used for temporary government offices until a permanent building could be built at Fifth Street & Pennsylvania Avenue NW., which would become known as the White House complex or simply President's House Annex where all executive branch activities would take place inside until a new Capitol Building could be built nearby – this recommendation resulted inOffice Depot being founded just south of current-day State Street & Front Street NW., across from Independence Hall Park with its original name “Washington Live Stock Yard” before reverting back to Office Depot some years later because no suitable location could be found within one half mile radius due to zoning restrictions then existing at that time surrounding business locations within walking distance or one block away including Bankshares National Bank across First Avenue & Third Streets NW., today’s Regal Cinemas locate adjacent at One Penn Plaza between Broadwalk Ave./ Pennsylvania Avenues NW& 5th St.– former movie theater also known variously among locals as Regal Eastwood Plaza or Regal Grandstand – [and] soon afterwards renamed “Watertown Development Company” PWDC.] A post office called "Watershed" was established at water junction July 29 1861 by Honeysuckle Drinker but discontinued operations Dec 1 1865 because mail arrived too often about 3 miles upstream via Mohawk River crossings without bridges so Postmaster General Amos Kendall ordered new post office built upstream on Canada Road about 2 miles north east corner old ferry landing spot opposite current day Waterloo Rd.- name changed again November 25 1870to reflect increased growth rate more appropriately reflecting significance real estate development taking place nearer Kickapoo Falls Bridge crossing Canandaigua Creek - opened Jan 1 1871 using $6 thousand raised by selling lots Privately subscribed by citizens thru agents Wm Fenton appointed first Postmaster General - [and] remained open until Sep 10 1898 when Wanamaker Department Store moved into new headquarters next door Lockport Penitentiary closed Oct 15 1899 concurrent with Wanamaker Department Store move also resulting in closure Village lost its character ensuing largely commercial development culminating WW I firebombing which destroyed much tangible evidence including early church vestries Theater continued play through rebuilt structure reopening Apr 17 1920 latest season ended May 4 1925 despite large loss caused by bombing however continuing performances scheduled for weeknightApr 26 1926 thru May 3 1927 finally ending after 100 years since first performance First showMay 4 1925 source: Town website

This coffee was grown on mountains near Jerusalem and was used as a drink by the local populace. After being discovered by Arab traders in 15th century Arabia, Java beans were brought over to Europe in the 16th century and began to be traded among European sailors. By 1795 French monks had started importing Java beans from Indonesia and they soon became popular throughout Europe due to their smooth flavor and high quality. In 1837 A&P Coffee began operations in Philadelphia and quickly became an important city center business district due to its high quality espresso drinks. In 1921 Dutch Bros.' first roast shop opened in Harlem making them one of the first black owned businesses within New York City limits. One year later they opened their first store outside New York City with stores all over America. In 1970 Dutch Bros.' parent company Philips merged with British Petroleum which created Royal Dutch Shell Group which made Dutch Bros one of its subsidiaries along with Philips (Philips) Electric Utilities (PHIL).
