The Marine Corps has been deployed in many different places throughout its history. Deployments have given Marines the opportunity to learn and grow as soldiers, sailors, and airmen. The Marine Corps also provides a sense of community for Marines who serve together. But even though it can be painful, it is also important for them to do their best when it comes time for deployment again. They know that if they can’t stand up for their country, nobody else will be able to either. And that’s something that we all should remember about these brave men and women who serve our country every day!

Tonawanda is a small town in upstate New York, located on the southern border of Finger Lakes County. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. The name "Tonawanda" comes from the Ojibwe word “tanka” meaning place where deer are killed. The village was founded by French fur traders in 1664 as part of the settlement around Albany. It became an American community in 1788 when it was taken over by the British and renamed Tonawanda for General Jamesonny Clarke, who had led a successful defense of Canada's frontier against American Indian attacks during the Seven Years' War. In 1815, Tonawanda became part of Erie County and lost its status as a separate town; it reverted to its original name after becoming part of Niagara County in 1827. After being devastated by Hurricane Irene in 2011, Tonawanda began slowly rebuilding with $2 million from various donation drives and private contributions. On October 10th, 2013, local officials held their first election ever for school board members with representation proportional to population size – making Tonawanda one of just 10 communities nationwide to do so! In 2018, construction began on a brand new elementary school which will serve students from grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade*. This project is expected to be completed by 2021.* On July 6th 2019*,Tonawanda celebrated its 350th anniversary!

In 1784, the town of Tonawanda, now part of Buffalo, New York was founded by settlers from Pennsylvania. The area at what is now the intersection of Niagara Street and Erie Boulevard was first settled in 1686 by the Lenape Indians. In 1784, the Susquehannocks ceded their land to the British Crown as part of the Treaty of Fort Stanwix. The town was named after Anthony Tonawanda, a Native American leader who had helped negotiate that treaty. By 1800, there were over 100 small businesses in Tonawanda. The population grew rapidly during the late 19th century due to manufacturing and agriculture growth in Buffalo and other surrounding towns. In 1881, Tonawanda became an independent city under New York State jurisdiction. During World War I, Tonawanda served as a base for military action on Lake Ontario near Niagara Falls. After the war ended,Tonawanda attracted new residents and businesses including a steel plant and automotive factory which produced cars until 1955. In 1957,Tonawanda became one of two cities within New York state (the other being Syracuse) to be granted municipal autonomy pursuant to provisions of the Local Government Law No. 793 (1957). On November 3rd ballot referendum results showed that citizens overwhelmingly approved amending their charter to allow for more services such as health care and parks & recreation; this amendment became effective on January 1st 1958 After years of economic stagnation following privatizations in 1990s across much of North America., economic growth resumed in 2001-2010 with heavy investment coming from China especially for trucking hubs serving upstate New York’s Buffalo-Niagara region The city has since seen significant gentrification with some longtime residents moving out while others have moved into high end apartments or leased space in professional buildings like Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Tonawanda was a hamlet in the town of Tonawanda, New York, United States. It was located on the south side of the Niagara River near its confluence with the Erie Canal. The hamlet became an incorporated village in 1872. In 1907, it lost its status as a village and merged into the town of Tonawanda.
