Spring Valley is a small town in Upstate New York, located just north of the Tioga County line. The population was 1,036 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Syracuse-Albany-Ithaca, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village was founded by Dutch colonists in 1795 and named for Spring Valley in Pennsylvania. In 1824, the United States acquired title to all of what are now Yates and Tioga counties from France through Treaty of Paris. The U.S.'s decision not to include Spring Valley in its original boundaries led to the name change from Spring Valley to Springdale in 1825. The first settler arrived around 1800 and there were only 10 people living here when the Erie Canal was built. By 1830 there were over 100 people here, most of whom were farmers who grew corn, hay, oats, potatoes and other crops on their properties that still stand today including Huckleberry Hill (now a public park). In 1839–40 Drury built his first house on present day Main Street which he called "Drury's House". He also started a two-storey log cabin schoolhouse on what is now School Street which served as his home until 1951 when it burned down with all inside except four students who managed to escape before it caught fire; this event has been cited as one of the earliest examples of arson in upstate New York! Most residents here continued to farm until after World War II when many moved away for various reasons such as better jobs or retirements elsewhere in upstate New York. However, some returned during that time period like Grover Cleveland who had his summer home here while he toured Upstate New York between November 1889 and January 1890 before being elected President on December 4th! Today there are only a few small businesses remaining along Main Street such as antique stores and gift shops while much more development has taken place near Interstate 81 which borders town limits making it difficult if not impossible for local residents to get close enough to see anything! Although some have tried starting community organizations like butternut squash soup clubs or knitting groups these have failing outcomes each time because everyone seems too busy working instead of enjoying life outside their tiny town walls!

Spring Valley is a small town in the Catskills of upstate New York, located on the east side of the Saratoga County line. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. Spring Valley was first settled by Germans in 1792 and became an incorporated village in 1831. In 1847, the United States acquired over thirteen thousand acres (sixteen square miles) of land east of New York City from Great Britain as part of the Treaty of Paris following the American Revolution. This included much of what is now Spring Valley, including most of present-day Saratoga County. The land was used for agricultural purposes and for grazing by horse and cattle until it was patented to German settlers in 1792. The first permanent settler in Spring Valley was Johann Gottfried Kappelberger, who arrived with his family from Germany on February 14, 1792. In 1827, John Grote purchased three hundred acres (eleven square miles) around present-day Spring Valley from Kappelberger for $1 per acre (or $10 per head). Grote developed this area into one of the most important commercial areas in Upstate New York during its early years. The early springs that powered these early factories were also responsible for starting many local dialects spoken today within Spring Valley: East High Dutch, Scots Gaelic, Ulster Scots and Lowland English are some examples. Today's spring water is derived primarily from local wells but also contains elements drawn from other nearby communities such as Westchester County and Ulster County. During World War II, many residents worked at various munitions plants throughout Upstate New York; however, few people lived near these facilities directly due to wartime transportation constraints which limited traveling outside town limits. However there are numerous memorials and statues dotting residential neighborhoods all around town honoring those who have served our country during World War II or have since passed away; such as soldiers Killed In Action Memorial Park off Route 9A just outside town proper between High School Road & Maple Avenue & Veterans Memorial Stadium across Route 9D just south of Center Street inside Walnut Creek Reservoir

By the early 1800s, the town had a population of about 150 people. In 1814, the Battle of White Sands took place near Spring Valley. The battle ended with the loss of many American soldiers and civilians. After the battle, many Americans began moving to Spring Valley to escape the war. In 1865, a group of soldiers from Company A cavalry unit led by Major General John Pemberton arrived inSpring Valley to fight in the American Civil War. Many residents of Spring Valley helped support their military comrades during the war. After the war ended, many residents decided to stay in Spring Valley and start anew. In 1922, Spring Valley became a city.
