Rockville Centre is a city in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population was 30,927 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Rockville Center–South Side Community District. The center of town is located on the west bank of the Hudson River and is bordered by the communities of Westside and Eastside. The first coffeehouses in Rockville Centre opened in 1825. They were called "The Coffee House" and "The Fenton House." In 1829, Elijah Hicks founded Hicks' Coffee House on Main Street in what is now called West Side Plaza. In 1851, John Dolan established Dolan's Coffee House on Canal Street between Union and Clinton Streets. In 1865, Isaac Singer started Singer's Coffee House on Canalside Road between Elmhurst Avenue and Weequahic Boulevard near present-day Lewisohn Stadium. In 1870, George Anson introduced roasted coffee beans from Brazil to America at his store on State Street in downtown Rockville Centre. He named it Anson & Son's Coffee Store after his father-in-law, Samuel Anson. By 1880, Anson's store had been renamed Anson Bros.' Coffee Shop because brothers George (George) Anson (1847–1912) and Jno., Jr.(John), ran it together as one business with six stores across New York City. By 1890s most Rockville Centre businesses were either small grocery stores or cigar shops that sold cigars only; there were no restaurants or cafes then except for a few places that served beer or wine imported from Europe or Asia (eager for Prohibition Era Americans to consume). The population of Rockville Centre exploded during World War I with many people moving into the city due to military service; by 1919 the population reached 50,000 people living within two miles of each other on three sides of downtown! During prohibition years most businesses closed but some reopened such as Sweeny’s bar which reopened after being closed for several months during prohibition while owners Brownell & McKay Distributors tried different methods to get around Prohibition including having customers bring their own cans/boxes to buy liquor instead of using local Bottlers who refused to sell alcohol without a permit). After repeal most businesses closed again but some reopened such as Gresham’s department store which reopened after being closed for several months during prohibition while owners Gresham & Sons Packing Company tried different methods to get around Prohibition including having customers bring their own cans/boxes to buy liquor instead of using local Bottlers who refused to sell alcohol without a permit). Most retailers reopened by 1922 when state law required permits for all types retail sales so all types retail stores could reopen including restaurants etc.. Finally all types retail stores became legal once per day statewide requirement was lifted in 1933!
Rockville Centre is a city in the New York metropolitan area. The population of Rockville Centre was 134,243 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Syracuse–Fayette County, New York Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what is now Rockville Centre was James Ketchum, who erected a log cabin on the east side of Main Street in 1798. The town charter was granted on April 24, 1805 androckville centre became an incorporated village on July 1, 1837. On November 3rd, 1851 incorporation of the town by act of the state legislature created one company for each thousand residents with a meetinghouse and schoolhouse at its center. In 1861 when Rockville Centre became a City it had over 100 businesses and employes including eighty-six firms engaged in various industries such as lumberjacking, manufacturing paper products and wagon driving for railroads. In 1865 two new companies were organized - One hundred fifty five stores were opened in 1865 alone In 1870 there were 511 businesses employing 4755 workers making Rockville Centre one of America’s largest cities at that time The First World War produced many jobs for locals such as those working in munitions plants This century has seen a major economic development with job growth across all sectors including health care services (euphemistically called “health technology”), finance and real estate

In 1876, Giovanni Mazzeo founded Mazzeo Coffee Company in Rome with his brother Angelo Mazzeo. The Mazzeo company became known for its quality and prestigious roasts. In 1922, Luigi Bezzera founded Bezzera Coffee Company in Milan with his family members Pietro Bezzera and Umberto Bezzera. This company became well-known for their unique blends of Arabica and Robusta coffees. Rockville Centre is a town in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population was 25,471 at the 2010 census. It was founded on April 1, 1785 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and his wife Anna Maria de' Medici as part of the Westchester County settlement of Saratoga. Rockville Centre is located on the southern tip of Long Island. The first settler in what would become Rockville Centre, Nicholas-Jacques Conte, arrived in 1785 and built a small cabin on the current site of Main Street. He and his wife Anna Maria de' Medici were both from Florence, Italy and had come to America to visit her brother Giovanni who was living in Utica then under British rule. They hired help to build a house and started trading with local farmers for goods they could not get back home. In 1802 Nicholas-Jacques Conte sold land including the present-day village site to John Doane for $1,000USD Doane began developing the area into a agricultural community with orchards and plantations such as those now located near Jericho Road and Cayuga Lake. By 1825 he had constructed a large brick schoolhouse which became one of the town’s most important landmarks until it burned down in 1908. The townspeople quickly rebuilt using Logansdam Creek sandstone used locally for building instead of expensive imported stone In 1872 John Atherton donated 2 acres (0 hectares) north of Main Street to be used as an parkland called Atherton Park after himself and General James Halleck who had been Wood's Chief Engineer during the American Civil War Atherton donated additional land east of Main Street between Clinton Avenue (now First Avenue) and Maple Road (now Third Avenue) which became known as Upper Atherton Park after him . This land also served as a training ground for local cadets during World War I before it reverted back to farm use . The Town Board acquired title to all but 1/4 acre (0 hectare) south of Main Street from Atherton Park on June 15th 1924 following his death . On that dayrockvillecentre voted 3 – 0 not to annex neighbouring North Hempstead because they felt that annexation would violate their founding charter
