The Patchogue National Guard was originally organized on December 1, 1861 in response to the American Civil War. The unit was initially called the "Baldwin's Regiment" and served as a militia battalion until 1865. After the war, many of the original members of the Baldwin's Regiment decided to form their own regiment and it is said that one-third of all soldiers recruited into the New York National Guard were from Patchogue. The first officers of the National Guard were commissioned on February 15, 1866. The unit was then stationed in Syracuse for a year before being sent to Fort Erie, Ontario to garrison there for two years. During this time, they also served as volunteers for local defense missions such as assisting in striking at a hostile Indian camp during Black Hawk War. On September 14, 1870, the New York State Militia became an infantry regiment under command of Major General John P. Hays when it merged with three other regiments that had been raised in upstate New York: The Oneida County Volunteers (1868), Buffalo Soldiers (1870), and Schenectady Volunteer Infantry (1872). On July 30, 1874, both Battalions A and B of the National Guard’s 4th Infantry Regiment were reorganized into two Regiments which would become known as Battalion A [New York] and Battalion B [Patriots], headquartered at Westchester barracks #1 on Main Street between Broadway and Long Island Avenue east of First Avenue in Patchogue Village. In 1898 new armories were built at Westchester barracks #2 on Main Street between Broadway and Park Avenue north of First Avenue in Patchogue Village; these buildings would be used until 1916 when they were replaced by a new armory located at Bethlehem barracks #1 on Route 9A near Northport Boulevard in Northport Village where troops remained until 1941 when they moved south to Armory Park Drive just outside Oframtown after World War II ended. Noarmy history can be traced back much further than this point however due to numerous changes made within New York State over time including federalization which resulted in most state militias becoming federally sponsored rather than state run entities like the National Guardsmen had been since 1861 Additionally, many pieces ofPatchogue village's military heritage have been lost over time such as cannons still stored inside Westchester Barracks today or even older remnants from artillery firefights fought during America's involvement in World War II such as machine guns left emplaced throughout town while ammunition dumps remain scattered around town today These Machine Guns Remain In Town Today!

Patchogue, New York is a town located in Suffolk County, New York on the South Shore of Long Island. The population was 7,865 at the 2010 census. Patchogue is one of the oldest towns in America and has been around since 1624 when it was known as Hempstead. It became a separate town on April 12, 1868 after meeting to vote on whether to secede from Suffolk County. The vote ended with a majority in favor of staying within the county. The town features many historic buildings including two churches—St. John's Episcopal and St. Nicholas Roman Catholic—and two schools: Presbyterian and Congregational (now part of Ithaca College). In 1892, Patchogue donated its land for what is now Ithaca College's main campus and also built an addition to the Presbyterian church which still stands today as one of town's most prominent landmarks. In recent years, Patchogue has seen growth in its economy due to its location near Cornell University, both domestically and internationally; this has led to new businesses opening up throughout the community and helped make it a more vibrant place to live and work than ever before. As well as being home to some of the best shopping options available in North Eastern NY, Patchogue offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities such as fishing or boating just minutes away from downtown or out into central Long Island Sound for swimming or kayaking!
The National Guard was a receiving institution for national gifts from the American people. The first gift to the National Guard was a rifle in 1903. Gifts continued to be given until 1959, when Congress passed the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of America Act (MOA) which prohibited private individuals from giving gifts to the National Guard. The MOA was repealed in 1967 and the gift history of the National Guard has been continuous since then. The origins of the National Guard date back to 1792, when Rhode Island organized a regiment of militia called “the Militia Company”. In 1821, Massachusetts organized its own regiment called “the Suffolk Regiment” and in 1861, New York created its own battalion called “the Albany Battalion”. In 1868, Florida established a regiment called “the Florida Infantry” and in 1898, California established its own regiment called “the Los Angeles County Infantry”. In 1903, President Theodore Roosevelt presented a rifle to the 1st Rhode Island Volunteer Infantry Regiment at Providence Naval Yard. In 1907, he presented an artillery piece to 2nd New Jersey Volunteer Infantry Regiment at Trenton Naval Yard. In 1909, he presented an artillery piece to 3rd Connecticut Volunteer Infantry Regiment at West Point Military Academy; and in 1911, he presented an artillery piece to 4th Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment at Auburn Field near Boston. On July 15th 1915 President Woodrow Wilson announced that all army units must report for duty on September 1st 1915 or face disbandment effective October 1st 1915 due to lack of volunteers available for service during World War I (although there were exceptions such as cavalry companies). This forced many men who had enlisted earlier in 1914 or 1915 into active military service without having received their paychecks yet and this resulted in many gifts being given by individuals instead of organizations like banks or businesses because they could not immediately send Gift Certificates/Money Orders directly to local chapters/units underground across country dueOctober 1st 1914 when enlistments would have started etc.). When Congress passed Publius V 1216 on November 14th 1916 it stated that any individual who wished may present his order with no restrictions as long as it bore His name And no civilian members were involved so now any person over 21 years old can become part- Time Magazine named one example where after WWI ended anyone could become part NGF even if they did not serve

Patchogue is a town in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 7,101 at the 2010 census. Patchogue is located on Long Island and shares borders with New York City to the south and west. It is part of the Syracuse–New Rochelle, NY-NJ-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European settlers in what is now Patchogue were Dutchmen who founded a small town on Governors Island in 1624. In 1814, land north of present day Patchogue was bought by Nicholas Roosevelt from the heirs of General James Wolfe for $10,000. The town proper was organized on July 1, 1817 when all of nearby Islip took part in same process. In 1825, surveyor George Washington Smith discovered valuable coal seams near modern day Patchogue and began leasing land to farmers for mining purposes. By 1830 there were over 100 families living in Patchoguetownship and total exports amounted to $2 million that year alone! Coal production continued until 1916 when it was supplanted by oil production due to the invention of artificial gaslighting which made it possible to see at night without fear of being attacked or harmed by wild animals like lions or tigers! While many businesses have been closed or relocated throughout its history due to technological advances such as electricity or refrigeration (and post-World War II competition), one business that has never left – since its original incorporation – is Winton's Drug Store which still stands today and provides essential services to residents including groceries, health care items, tires and more!
In 1693, the area around Patchogue was purchased by Jameson and his family. The town of Patchogue was founded in 1714 by Captain John Smith. In 1846, the town was consolidated with the towns of Rye and New Paltz. New York statehood occurred on April 14, 1912. On October 10 of that year, Patchogue became a part of the Town of Babylon which included all of what is now Nassau County.
