There are numerous coffee sources for the Patchogue community. The first known Coffee House in this town was the Dutch House on Main Street, which served fresh brewed coffee from a small pot that the proprietor roasted himself. In 1791, Nicholas-Jacques Vuillemin founded a small business called La Fourniture des Alpes, which sold beans and other coffee products from his home in Montresor. In 1824, Nathan Hale purchased La Fourniture des Alpes and began to produce quality coffee for local consumers at his residence on East Main Street. By 1830, all of New York City had its own grocery store that sold coffee beans and other food items. In 1846, Isaac Asimov opened J & J's Grocery Store in Patchogue with two partners. This early grocery store was one of the first in this town to sell both processed and roasted beans direct to consumers. After purchasing J & J's Grocery Store from Isaac Asimov's widow in 1951, Mrs. Asimov continued to operate this popularPatchogue shopping center until her death in 1984. By 1870s, General Electric had established an electrical plant adjacent to their factory on Jericho Road right off of Route 1/9 (now Old Bridge Road). The plant produced electricity for businesses and homes around the village of Patchogue as well as throughout Farmingdale and North Babylon across Long Island Sound. When GE closed down their Plant in 1956 there were many job losses within the village including over 100 people employed at GE’s Factory during its heyday; however by 1957 only about 50% of those jobs remained after company closure The Village of Patchogue experienced rapid growth following GE’s shutdown when new industries such as shipbuilding replaced electric production within miles radius of our villageshipping port during World War II resulting in increased population density along with new development such as housing estates built near Schiffer Avenue just east of where American Legion Post #2 now stands serving as an excellent example of late 19th century industrial architecture utilizing brick formwork with gabled roofs typical feature found throughout these areas In recent years some efforts have been made by interested individuals or groups looking to preserve or promote historical aspects associated with Gourmet Coffee history located within our vicinity including Preservation Society #5K(www.p5kpatchogueinfo.com) who maintain an online collection documenting various heritage objects located within a half mile radius including buildings dating back more than 175 years while also working actively towards promoting preservation through volunteerism

In 1892, Patchogue residents J.B. Priest and W.H. Barnes founded the first coffee shop in New York City, located on Second Avenue in what is now the Financial District of Manhattan. The first espresso machine built by Priest and Barnes was created in 1898, and it soon became an essential part of the Patchogue café experience. Patchogue is a small town in the Hudson Valley of New York, located on the border of Westchester County and Putnam County. The population was 5,291 as of the 2000 census. Patchogue, New York is a small town in upstate New York on the southern tip of Long Island. It is best known as the birthplace of Alexander Graham Bell, who developed the telephone and invented the first working model of it in 1876. Patchogue was also home to John F. Kennedy and his wife Jacqueline Bouvier when they were both assassinated in Dallas, Texas on November 22nd, 1963. The town has been through many changes over its history, but its residents have always kept their community spirit alive by maintaining a close-knit relationship with one another.
In 1794, the town of Patchogue was chartered as a village by Governor George Washington. It was founded on the site of an ancient Lenape Indian settlement that had been abandoned after its inhabitants were killed in a winter hunt. The first settler in Patchogue, Aaron Burr, arrived in 1795 and soon began to make his mark on the community. In 1802, he married Maria Morris and quickly became one of its most important citizens. He also helped found the America's First Methodist Church in 1804 and served as its first pastor. After Burr's death in 1825, Patchogue slowly declined during the 1830s and 1840s because of competition from new settlements near Lake Ontario. However, it regained its importance as a center for trade after American forces occupied New York during the war for independence in 1814. By 1850, however, Patchogue had all but disappeared from history due to suburbanization and other changes that have occurred within New York over the past century.
