The Oneida Naval Postgraduate School Navy deployed gift history began in 1978 with the donation of a Corvette to the school. The first USS Constitution Museum was opened in December, 1984 and contained items from the ships USS Constitution (LPH-2) and USS President George Washington (CVN-75). In 1990, a gifts room was added to the museum. In 1994, an adjoining classroom was dedicated to naval research and development. An expansion project in 2006 increased the size of the gift room by 50%. In 2007, a new exhibit hall was built on campus overlooking Lake Erie. The Naval Postgraduate School Navy deployed gift history continues today with donations from vessels such as HMS Queen Elizabeth II (RNLI), HMHS Hermes, USNS Bowditch (LPD-9), and USNS John F Kennedy (LPD-8). This year’s donation is a destroyer named after Rear Admiral Frank J. Larkin Jr., Commander Carrier Strike Group 5th Fleet who served during Operation Neptune’s Spear which took place in Bahrain in 2017.

The Oneida Naval Militia was a naval militia that served in the United States Navy from 1775 to 1865. It was formed as Company K of the First New York Regiment on October 14, 1775, at the Presidio of Monterey. The regiment first fought in the American Revolution and later fought in the war with Mexico. In 1814, it was disbanded and its members scattered throughout the state of New York. In 1865, Company L of the First New York Regiment was reactivated and redesignated Company N of the Oneida Naval Militia. It served until December 15, 1865, when it also disbanded. Its members were divided among various other militias throughout New York City before being combined back into Company N on January 1, 1866.
Oneida is a small town in upstate New York, about 25 miles east of the city of Albany. The population was 5,471 at the 2000 census. The village had a post office from 1854 to 1958 and an electric power plant from 1898 to 1922. Oneida is located on Mohawk Creek, which flows south through the town. The first settlers in Oneida were Dutch farmers who arrived in 1676. They named their new settlement after one of their own number, John Onondaga, who had served as lieutenant colonel in the English army during the American Revolution. In 1788, when New York became a state and Onondaga was made its governor, he donated land to form Oneida Village. The first store opened there in 1854 and by 1888 it boasted a school and two churches—one Congregational (founded 1791) and one Presbyterian (1792). In 1922, Oneida's electric power plant came online and soon drew more than 100 people for week-long picnics on the open meadow that now borders Main Street. Today Oneida remains largely rural with few services available closer to town than 10 miles away; however, access to digital media has made many residents increasingly dependent upon larger cities for most essential needs such as grocery shopping or entertainment. Oneida's economy has been based largely on farming since those early days; today some subsistence fisheries still take place near the creek mouth but most of what is produced here is exported for food purposes or used locally in products such as ethanol production or construction materials. There are also several small businesses providing goods and services not typically found outside larger towns: law enforcementagency provides security patrols around night while ice cream parlors offer cones fresh out of the oven; mechanics work on vehicles both inside and outside of local businesses while also servicing other areas within driving distance; dog walkingis offered daily from 9am until 2pm; racial diversity is evident throughout all aspectsof life with African Americans making up just 3% of population while Hispanics make up 6%, Asians make up 1% (up from 0% at2000), Native Americans make up 1% (up from 0%),and Italians make up 2%. Although slower-growing than nearby Syracuse or Buffalo due principally to lack of opportunity elsewhere in Upstate New York, Oneida enjoys strong support both within its community and statewide thanks largely to its excellent schools – including four high schools – quality infrastructure (including two hospital systems), friendly people & >50 years tradition of active civic engagement

This was only natural as Japan has been an important ally both during World War II and since then, playing an significant role in helping us protect our Pacific region. Oneida, New York was founded on October 16, 1777 by the Connecticut colonists as a small agricultural village in upstate New York. The town began to grow rapidly after it became the capital of the new United States in 1785. Oneida became an important industrial center and significant political and social center during its early years. In 1815, Oneida was renamed for George Washington as part of his controversial Homestead Act. After several changes of name, Oneida finally reached its current name on July 24, 2017, following a referendum vote to change the community's name from "George Washington" to "Oneida". The history of Oneida can be traced back to colonial times when this area was part of what is now Ontario County in upstate New York. On October 16, 1777, while still under British rule, the Connecticut colonists voted to establish a small agricultural village in upstate New York called Oneidasburgh. This village quickly developed into a major cultural and economic center due to its location near Lake Champlain and its relative lack of competition from other villages in the area. In 1800, Oneidasburgh passed through hands multiple times before becoming annexed by Albany County along with many other smaller villages within that county over time. The annexation led to increased development around Oneidasburgh because Albany County was then considered one of New York's largest counties and had a large landmass compared to other parts of the state. The growth around Oneidasburgh continued until 1810 when it too passed through hands again before becoming an unincorporated territory within Orange County proper. From here on out, development throughout Orange County slowed until 1825 when vis-à-vis nearby Rochesterhub (now Buffalo) another major populationcenter emerged which eventually led to both towns becoming incorporated as well - making Oneida one of only two municipalities in New York State granted this status prior to 1850 (the others being Canandaigua). Following incorporation into Orange County proper as well as developing at a more rapid pace than most other surrounding townships/villages – including Rochesterhub – Oneida soon attained stature among neighboring communities for its wealth and high-quality potentials associated with agriculture alone (. As such industries gradually replaced subsistence farming during the late 19th century), much has been written about how important agriculture played in shaping aspects of daily life for residents living inside the larger boundaries of Orange County - culminating with Today’s Day parade taking place annually at 1 p.m./1 pdt outside Town Hall Plaza all weekend long! While not ignored per se; post-1850 demographic changes have largely diminished importance given today’s larger regional economy; nonetheless key tenets upon which Oconee Township once stood continue unabated: Its Elmwood Cemetery remains highly rated by historians both nationally & internationally (& home funerals continue Sunrise Memorial Park’s tradition since 1860!) while also boasting world class shopping amenities available nearby
