The Oneida Army was one of the early American armies. The unit was formed in 1775 and fought in the Revolutionary War. It disbanded in 1800. The Oneida Regiment Museum is located in Ithaca, New York, and preserves the regiment's history. The Oneida Regiment Museum began collecting military memorabilia in the early 1990s when its curator, Capt. John Halsey, stumbled upon a trunk full of army uniforms at an auction. Halsey decided to make his own museum out of these uniforms and started collectioning additional items from various sources over time. In 2007, he donated a large quantity of army uniforms to the University at Buffalo Law School as part of their Military History Collection for use as displays in their law school's Lieutenant Colonel John Cavanaugh Gallery. Today, the Oneida Army Museum has amassed an extensive collection of military memorabilia dating back to 1775 including original clothing, weapons, tools and equipment used by members of that regiment during the Revolutionary War. This includes rare insignia and patches which were not commonly worn by other American armies at that time such as those from New York State or Connecticut militias who fought on opposite sides during the war- also known as "the Continental line." One unique aspect of this museum is that it houses two separate collections- one relating to contemporary American society (e.g., fashionista goddess Lady Gaga) and another focusing on 19th century America (eager frontier boy scout Huck Finn). both collections have been well-maintained with regularly updated exhibits featuring new finds along with insights into what went into making each item unique today - something often left unappreciated until excavation begins!

The Oneida Militia was originally an army unit of the revolutionary movement in upstate New York. The organization, formed in 1776, played a leading role in the independence of the United States from Great Britain. The militia was disbanded in 1802 following its disbanding by order of Ulysses S. Grant.
Oneida, New York is a town in Sullivan County, New York, United States. The population was 9,362 at the 2010 census. Oneida is considered a "bedroom community" due to its high number of students attending Cuomo University in the city of Albany. The town was founded by men led by resident David Fenton in 1814 as part of an effort to settle land that had been claimed by the Iroquois Confederacy. It grew quickly and by 1800 had a population of over 1,000. In 1827 Oneida became one of the original counties within Sullivan County. Many pioneers who arrived in this area – such as Julius Caesar Chappell and his brother James – were skilled mechanics and blacksmiths who worked on farms or developed businesses in the lumber industry or banking. The first school in Oneida opened in 1818 and soon became known for its excellent education opportunities for rural children from all over western New York. In 1860 Oneida saw significant growth when it incorporated as a village under the name of Utica Heights. Located on modern-day Utica Avenue between Main Street and Erie Boulevard,Utica Heights had more than 300 residents and boasted banks, stores, churches, schools and a post office but little else aside from some open fields where crops were grown or sported horses or pigs. It may have been during this time that utica (a variant form of "oughta") first came into use as an English word meaning anything pertaining to agriculture or horticulture; it would persistently be used throughout much of upstate New York until well into the 20th century even though farming activities gradually left off across most rural areas during this time frame (See also:oneidasuite).Utica Heights did however experience some major growth starting around 1881 with incorporation into Oneida Township which increased property values significantly making it one of America's wealthiest villages at that time before slowly petering out during the next few decades while other townsfolk continued to grow wealthier/richer relatively speaking although many remaining villagers joined forces with their former township brethren to form what would become known as Utica-Haltom City municipality which still exists today thanks largely to donations from several current/recently deceased members including current Mayor Catharine Haley). A fire destroyed much equipment belonging to Utica Heights Volunteer Fire Department on November 8th 1909 cutting short their service for good thereby sparing many lives but also ruining many years' worth of archives housed within their building along with numerous important old photographs etc... On December 26th 2009 local historian Catharine Haley organized a restored event entitled "Restoration & Reconstruction - A HistoryOfOneidasVillage" which included an overview of events leading up to and following the devastating fire while rare artifacts from UtICA HEIGHTS were displayed among other items
