The USS Constitution was a United States Navy ship that served in the War of 1812. She was sunk by a British ship on December 14, 1814, off the coast of New York City. The USS Constitution and USS Congress were the only U.S. warships to be lost during the war.
Mount Kisco is a small town in the Catskills of New York. It is located on the southern edge of the towns of Westchester and Orange, about 20 miles east of New York City. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. The first settlement in what is now Mount Kisco was established by Dutch farmers around 1624. From this early period until 1714, all land east of Saratoga Springs was part of Canada and not under English control. The British took over this area in 1714 and began to establish settlements here as part of their conquest of North America. One early settler, Nicholas Pileggi, built a log cabin near present-day routes 9 and 22 (now Maplewood Drive and Old Route 27), which he called "Pileggi's Tavern." By 1756, Pileggi had erected two more log cabins – one known as "Mackintosh," the other as "New Amsterdam." These villages grew rapidly during the eighteenth century because new roads were being built connecting them with Kingston upon Thames in England. In 1792, when George Washington became president of the United States, he decided to move his federal government from Philadelphia to Manhattan so that it would be closer to Congress and easier for him to communicate with his constituents. He ordered his surveyors to begin work on a road from Mount Vernon southward along Hudson Bay until they reached Albany; this road would eventually become known as Washington Avenue today. As soon as possible after George Washington's inauguration, he moved his family into One Hundred Acre lot number four on Long Island opposite Madison Square Garden where they lived until their death in 1800. In 1801–02 General James Clinton sailed downriver from Kingston upon Thames with 8000 men commanded by Commodore John Barry to attack Fort Niagara on Lake Ontario; while ashore at Niagara Falls Clinton issued orders for General Anthony Wayne to march upriver against Canadian forces led by Governor Sir Guy Carleton). On September 10th (the day before American independence was declared), Battle Of Fallen Timbers ensued between General Wayne's army and Carleton's force at Fallen Timbers Creek where 3000 Canadians were killed or captured including 400 officers including Generals Wolfe Tone and Cornwallis; Shielded behind high walls constructed near present-day Castle Hill Cemetery our troops remained unopposed for hours before general Wayne retreated without achieving any military objectives despite heavy losses amongst himself & Co.; events which have been erroneously interpreted as an event resulting in American independence both within America itself & internationally [emphasis added]). The battle has since been celebrated annually by Americans as an event that helped make them independent[1]. Aftermath: General Anthony Wayne retreats but does not surrender APPROXIMATELY 4000 casualties among himself &Co., many considered desertions leading directly into Revolutionary War

Navy Deployed Gifts are a history of giving that began with the USS Constitution. The USS Constitution was a United States Navy heavy cruiser which served in World War II and the Korean War. She was donated to the United States Naval Institute in 1955 by the late Rear Admiral J. David Greene, Commander, Norfolk District, U.S. Naval Station Norfolk. In 1957, Rear Admiral C. Everett Kinchy assumed command of the Naval Academy's construction department and directed that naval vessels be gifted to the Naval Institute for use as teaching tools at the Academy subsequent to their donation. Commodore Eustace Mullen became Commandant of the Naval Academy in 1958 and directed that gifts from both Admirals should go together - this is how we know that navy deployed gifts originated from Commodore Mullen and Rear Admiral Greene!
In 1714, the first Europeans to set foot in what is now New York City were Dutch settlers. They called the area Kisco after a small village in upstate New York that they passed through on their way to Manhattan. The Dutch traders who founded the city of New Amsterdam named it for this small village. The town of Kisco was not very successful and disappeared by 1800. However, its name has been used many times since then as a place where people have gathered for religious services or just to chat. The current incarnation of Kisco was founded in 1881 by Isaac Brock and Jameson Stewart as part of the Town of Rome (later renamed Westchester County). It became an incorporated town in 1907. Kisco is located on Mohawk Creek, which forms its eastern border. The creek runs through parts of neighboring towns like Yonkers and Valhalla before emptying into the Hudson River near Albany, New York. Mount Kisco is located on the east side of Mohawk Creek, about 8 miles from downtown Kisco. Mount Kisco was formed more than 10 million years ago when molten rock called magma came up from under Earth's surface and solidified into mountains over time. Over time, these mountains grew taller and stronger until they reached their present form—the peak being at 6,815 feet (2,818 m) above sea level—around 150 years ago. Mountainous hills line both sides of Mohawk Creek while several smaller ridges circling around it make up much of Mount Kisco's outer boundaries today. This natural Setting has allowed for extensive agricultural usage throughout history; today’s farmland includes manors, villages and hamlets dating back to colonial times!
The first European to visit what is now Mount Kisco was the Dutchman Pieter Balthazar Van Ness in 1609. The first Europeans to live on the mountain were the French in 1764 and 1765. In 1814, John C. Calhoun, a U.S. senator from Georgia, made a speech on the mountain that helped solidify its reputation as a national scenic landmark.
