The Mamaroneck Regiment of the New York Volunteer Infantry was one of the first units to enlist in the Union army during the American Civil War. The regiment was organized on December 12, 1861, at White Plains, New York. The regiment served in many engagements throughout the war and attained notoriety for its vicious fighting style known as "The Warriors." On April 12, 1865, Mamaroneck's unit surrendered at Appomattox Court House in Virginia. The regiment lost a total of 191 men killed and wounded in action. Today, the regiment is commemorated by a park located within walking distance of its original headquarters building in Mamaroneck.

On December 11, 1812 the Second Regiment of Infantry, under the command of Colonel John Armstrong was organized at Mamaroneck. It served in the War of 1812. On July 4, 1830 it was disbanded and its members were mustered out at Kingston.
Mamaroneck is a small town in Monroe County, New York, United States. The population was 3,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Rochester–Democrat and Wellesley (NY) Micropolitan Statistical Area. Mamaroneck has been inhabited by the Mohawk people since 1614 when they settled there on the east side of what is now Monroe County. In 1792, the area became part of Albany and then New York City. The first settler in Mamaroneck was Nicholas Cazenovelli who came to this area in 1794 with his family from Rome, Italy. He founded a tavern here which he called "The Fortunato". In 1812, John Stephenson built a gristmill on White Lake near present-day Mamaroneck and began to grind corn for flour. This mill became important because it allowed local farmers to produce flour more cheaply than if they had to transport it far away from where it was needed. In 1825, George Stephenson built a canal connecting Buffalo and Niagara Falls which made transportation easier for goods coming into and out of New York City. The canal made Mamaroneck an important stop on this route and also helped to increase its importance as a village because it enabled people to get their goods much closer to where they were needed rather than having them shipped all the way downriver. In 1836, Andrew Carnegie bought some land here from Nicholas Cazenovelli and started making investments in businesses such as coal mines and lumber mills. By 1840, Carnegie had constructed several large buildings including one that still stands today known as Carnegie Hall (now home of the Philharmonic Orchestra). With these successes came increased competition for jobs in these businesses so Carnegie decided to move his operations westward into Erie County where he would be able to find even better employment opportunities. Mamaroneck continued growing rapidly during this time with many new homes being built along White Lake while other businesses like grocery stores, banks, post offices and churches opened up shop here too! In fact, by 1860 Mamaroneck had become such an important community that it was given its own U.S.-wide postal service! By 1870 however, most of these newer businesses had either closed or been replaced by larger ones catering more specifically to regional markets instead of just New York City! One significant event that took place during this time period was the construction of Yesteryear's General Store which stood until 1907 when it caught fire due to faulty wiring! During this time period too many smaller businesses closing down combined with lack of investment led to high levels of poverty within Mamaroneck which continues today among its citizens despite efforts by officials like Mayor James Puskas Jr.'s recent visit!. Mamaronecker women have long been prominent role models both inside and outside their communities

Mamaroneck, New York is a small town in upstate New York, located on the shore of Lake Erie. The population was 5,631 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls–Toronto metropolitan area. Mamaroneck was first settled by Dutch settlers in 1624. In 1814, it became part of the United States and remained so until 1959. The village name comes from the word "mam" (maples), which stood for "homes" or "village." The name also suggests that there are several mamaronesks or hardwood trees near the original settlement site. The history of Mamaroneck began with a few log cabins built on land acquired from John Woolridge in 1795. This early settler community thrived due to its location on navigable water and its easy access to transportation, including ferries to Niagara Falls and Toronto. In 1814, when Buffalo were annexed into New York City, Mamaroneck became part of Canandaigua County and thence within Albany County. At this time slightly more than one-seventh of all landowners in Albany County were farmers; however, by 1830 nearly two-thirds of all landowners had arrived as immigrants from Europe – mostly Germans but also Poles and Irishmen – who contributed greatly to agriculture and commerce throughout central New York State during what is called “New England” immigration period (1820s- 1860s). This era saw many milestones for Mamaroneck: First came electric lighting in 1892; then came telephone service in 1903; then gasoline service in 1928; finally road construction beginning in 1939 which connected town center with rural areas around it providing essential access for businesses and travelers alike. During World War II much activity took place here including munitions production at Mohawk Arsenal; troops stationed here included both Ulysses S Grant’s 9th Infantry Regiment (XI) duringWorld War I as well as units engaged during World War II such as Headquarters Company 3rd Battalion 7th Infantry Regiment (HHC 3/7) activated at Camp Upton late summer 1944 before moving eastward through September 1945 to battle at Saipan where they played an important role leading up to Okinawa Campaign final push against Japanese forces
