The New York Air National Guard (NY ANG) is the aerial arm of the New York City Police Department. The ANG was founded in 1912 as the Army Aerial Service, predecessor to today's NY ANG. The first headquarters for the NY ANG were located at 30th Street and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. In 1940, the NY ANG merged with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) to form one air force. In 1946, when America entered World War II, both air forces were activated and mobilized under American leadership. The RCAF became an all-AmericanAAF organization while the NY ANG remained a part of British Overseas Territories airline RAF Bomber Command until 1948. During WW2, both services flew over 50% of all United StatesAAF daylight bombing missions against Nazi Germany and Japan; however, due to wartime restrictions on bomber numbers and equipment, only about 25% of all attacks by either service were carried out from civilian airports within New York City proper. Afterriegelnd restrictions caused many USAAF bombers to retire from combat duty after 1945; however, RAF Bomber Command continued operations into 1949 using former USAAF aircraft that had been leased from other NATO countries including Norway and Denmark. On 9/11/2001 two USAF B-2 Spirit bombers departed Andrews AFB en route to Ramstein AFB #1 in Germany for Operation Tomahawk; these planes were specifically targeting terrorist targets inside Afghanistan but also dropped supplies over Afghanistan which disruption airstrikes were supposed to prevent supporting Taliban insurgency inside that country

It is part of the Syracuse-Fayetteville-Eastman, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community began as a farmstead on the Unadilla River near present-day Mamaroneck village. In 1792, it became part of Rochester and was known as "Rochesterburgh." In 1814, it passed to Syracuse and was renamed "Mamaroneck". In 1847, it became a town under the jurisdiction of Albany County. In 1898, it merged with Fayetteville and Eastman to form the current metropolitan area. Mamaroneck has a rich history dating back to its early days as a farming community. The first post office was established in 1825 and lasted for only three years due to lack of customers. The first store opened in 1830 by Wm D’Angelo and his wife Anna Nuccio). Today’s oldest restaurant still stands in Mamaroneck Village – The Green Gables (opened 1886), which operated until 2007 when it closed because of financial difficulties caused by an economic recession; however, other long-standing businesses include The Old Tavern (opened 1922), which still serves quality food today while also maintaining an active cultural program; Oneonta Mercantile Co., now owned by Walmart; Alvin's Hardware & More (established 1912); Mrs. Biddle's Bakery - founded in 1916 by two women who ran their business out of their home until 1977; Mount Hope Baptist Church (founded 1865) - one of many Protestant churches located in Mamaroneck; and Baldwins Hardware & More - established 1954 - continues to carry groceries locally but specializes mostly in tools and hardware items such as locksmithing services and lawn care supplies

In 1956, the USAF gave the first jet aircraft to the United Kingdom. The RAF received a Lockheed P-3 Orion from the USAF in 1958. In 1960, the USAF gifted two McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle Fighter Jets to Great Britain as part of their Commonwealth Aviation Programme. From 1962 until 1994, the USAF gifted six Northrop Grumman A-12 Intruder Attack Planes to Great Britain and Australia as part of their Mutual Defense Assistance Programme (MDAP). Additionally, in 1995, the USAF gifted a Boeing 747 Dreamliner jet airliner to Saudi Arabia as part of King Fahd's Jubilee Celebration program. Since 1996, United States Air Force Aircraft have been gifted to various countries such as Turkey, Qatar, Bahrain and Egypt under various programmes including Peace Operations and Warfighting Missions.

Mamaroneck, New York is a town in Orange County, New York, United States. The population was 5,294 at the 2010 census. It is located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario north of Rochester and east of Syracuse. The first Europeans to visit Mamaroneck were Giovanni da Verrazzano and his men in 1524-25. In 1614 John Smith discovered the area which he named after Mamaroneck Manor on Fire Island in Long Island Sound. The Manor was acquired by Sir George Pollock who built a large estate there around 1730-40 as part of an effort to secure control over the Great Lakes region for Britain. In 1812 Nicholas Biddle bought land at Mamaroneck point from Pollock and developed it into what is now one of the most important villages in Orange County. He was followed by other settlers and businesses such as Nathaniel Hawthorne who founded Hawthorne Paper Company in 1837 and became its president and CEO; Fenton Pennington, who organized the Erie Canal; Edward Drysdale Sr., who established Drysdale Farms; Augustus Mallet, Jr., owner of the Mallet Hotel; Alfred Payson Stone (1863-1942), founder of Payson stone quarries near Rome City; Harry S Truman (1904-1945), vice president for agricultural sciences during World War II; former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani (1989-2001); current Mayor Luigi Di Maio (1995-) First Presbyterian Church was built here on Lake Ontario waterfront in 1828 by Reverend James Callender with assistance from Major General Israel Putnam US Volunteers under Commodore George Dewey while they prepared to invade Canada It served as a military garrison until 1870 when it became a residential stop for soldiers between Buffalo and Toronto Mamaroneck also had an important commercial role during this time including being home to two factories that produced milk powder for local farmers: Westinghouse's cheese factory started up here in 1868 and Distillers’ Trust Brewery started up here in 1870 Prior to Prohibition many people living near Buffalo carried water from Brownstown Creek which flowed through Mamaroneck into western New York State before turning south towards Niagara Falls After repeal many residents moved away or lost their jobs due to new laws prohibiting manufacture, transport, sale meeting consumption Specifications such as purity tests were required prior to purchase A small number still remain today Some notable residents include Governor Mario Cuomo (2002-) After prohibition many businesses closed down or relocated including Distillers’ Trust Brewery where labor unions successfully fought off relocation plans until their closure in 1984 When Prohibition ended business revived but operations are now mostly online Today Mamaroneck has emerged as a vibrant community with several restaurants, nightlife options and attractions like Art Institute Of America Museum nearby
