The history of the Kingston, New York Army deployment gift is a long and varied one. It began with the first military installation in Kingston, Upper Canada in 1775. The town was chosen as the site for Fort Niagara because of its strategic location on the Ontario-Quebec border. The fort was built to protect against British attacks and served as an important part of Canada's defense during the American Revolution. Additionally, several other prominent Canadians have given generously towards army deployments over time: Lt.-General Arthur Bliss Armstrong donated 450 acres (240 hectares) east of Toronto; Colonel James Monaghan made a gift of 500 acres (240 hectares) near Montreal; Lieutenant-General Sir John Atherton gifted 1,000 acres (600 hectares) around Ottawa; and Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt gave 5 million dollars (£4 million at current value) towards building a navy dockyard in Halifax Harbour). Today, there are more than 20 different organizations which contribute towards military deployments across Lower Canada each year. These donations range from small contributions - such as $10 or less - to larger sums - such as $100 or more - which can support multiple deployments over a period of weeks or months. In total, these groups have caused tens of millions Of dollars (£30 million at current value) worth OFT&E within Greater Toronto Area alone over recent years!

The Garrison was founded on December 14, 1861 by orders of General Ulysses S. Grant and became operational on February 12, 1862. The Garrison played an important role in the Battle of Gettysburg and remained active until September 1865 when it was abolished and its assets were transferred to other army installations.
Kingston, New York is a small town in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. The population was 5,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Oneonta-Albany-Oneonta, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. Kingston is located on state Route 10 west of Ithaca and east of Syracuse. Johnston's Creek flows through the town and forms its eastern border. The creek provides water for many industries in Kingston, including agriculture, manufacturing, and papermaking; as well as drinking water for local residents. The first permanent settler in what is now Kingston was Nicholas Parsons (1758–1829). He bought land from the Mohawk nation in 1792 and built a cabin on what is now Broadway Street. In 1802 he married Catherine Haggerty and founded the Parsons Manufacturing Company with his brother John Parsons. The company manufactured items such as saddles, horseshoes, buttons, rifles, cannons, flourishes for clothing and other products. In 1825 Jacobs organized a township committee to plat out new townships in upstate New York onto which he donated land that would become Kingston Township. Jacobs named one of these townships after himself – Jameson Township (named for him). In 1827 Jacobs sold his interest in the manufacturing company to his son Nicholas Jr., who renamed it THE JAMESON MOTOR COOPERATIVE thenTHE NICHOLAS PARSons COOPERATIVE before merging with THE JOHNSTON MACHINING COMPANY to form THE JAMESON MOTOR CORP.; continuing until 1938 when it became UNITED MOTORS CORPORATION (UNITED STATES) Ltd.). During World War II KINGSTON was known as "The Gateway to Syracuse" because so many war plants were located there; General Motors made most of its wartime production here including tanks and planes used by NATO forces during Operation Overlord (the Normandy invasion). After 1945 much industrial activity stopped due to economic recession but some new businesses have started up since then such as an arts center that opened in 2008 called "Theatre at Pence" which visualizes traditional performing arts from around the world outside of North America

This shipment consisted of 1,000 items, such as clothing, food, tools and equipment, and art supplies. The Second World War began on September 2nd 1939 when Germany attacked Poland’s capital city, Warsaw. In response to this attack, President Franklin D Roosevelt ordered the mobilization of the United StatesArmy using Executive Order 9066 which called for all citizens to donate goods and services to support America’s military efforts abroad. This order lasted until December 8th 1945 when Japan surrendered at Hiroshima after bombing it three times with an atomic bomb. After World War II ended there was a silent period in gift history where many people didn’t know how to react when they received their first packages from America or other countries involved in war-time events such as Europe or Asia Minor (now Turkey). Kingston was founded in 1714 by Sir John Johnson and became a proprietary colony of the Dutch East India Company. The first English settlement in what is now Kingston was established in 1664 by the Puritans who named it New Netherland. In 1714, Sir John Johnson granted land to George Washington for his military outpost at Fort George on the south side of present-day Kingston. In 1755, King George III gave Kingston to Colonel Jameson for his military post at Fort Niagara on the north side of town. In 1802, when Upper Canada was created from part of British America, Kingston became its capital.
