The Coast Guard was founded in 1915 as the Harbor Patrol. The first Coast Guard Station was located in Harrison, New York. The mission of the Coast Guard is to provide security for the nation's seas and coasts. Over time, the Coast Guard has become an important part of our society and economy. Today, the Coast Guard operates over 100 stations across the United States and Canada. In Harrison, we have a station that helps protect our coastline from accidental or intentional damage. The gift history of this station is reflective of our entire coast guard service. The first station in Harrison was built in 1915 and was called Station #1. Border Patrol agents were stationed at this station to help keep America's borders secure. Since then, it has been instrumental in helping make our communities safer by providing coverage for any emergency that might occur on our shores. In 1984, we transferred Station #2 to Harrison after being donated by Mrs. John Rafferty ( namesake of adjacent River Rd.). This new location provides more than just maritime patrol; it also houses Billy Goat Brewery which offers beer tours during summertime! It's no wonder this location became known as "the district." In 1992, we moved back to Station #1 after being donated by Mrs Jane D’Angelo ( namesake of adjacent Park Ave). This new location provides law enforcement protection for residents within a two-mile radius of the station as well as additional resources for waterfront patrols and environmental monitoring activities throughout town! With its impressive history and current role as one of Harrison’s oldest stations, Station 1 is sure to continue serving us well into eternity!

Harrison is a small town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 992 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what is now Harrison were two families from Lancaster, Pennsylvania who established a farm there in 1798. The name "Harrison" was given to them by General John Harrison, father of George Washington and the first U.S. President. The town began to take form as a village in 1824 when it had a population of about 25 people; by 1828 it had grown to about 100 people and by 1830 it had reached its peak with around 200 residents. In 1848 Harrison became part of the newstate of New York and lost its status as a village; however, it continued to be an important commercial center until after the American Civil War when most manufacturing moved out to larger cities such as Buffalo or Niagara Falls. After the war many businesses closed down or changed hands and the population declined again until reaching its current level in2010; however, some small businesses have been restarted since then including one grocery store that opened in 2016 according to local media reports
