The first coffee shops in Fredonia were founded by two Italian immigrants, Luigi and Paolo Cappuccilli, in 1887. The couple opened a small shop on Elm Street where they sold roasted beans and espresso drinks. In 1912, Luigi’s son Angelo started the first grocery store in town and began selling Coffee Tables along with milk pails and other household items. In 1923, Angelo’s brother-in-law Pietro Santangelo purchased the store from Luigi Cappuccilli and changed its name to Santangelo’s Café for consistency with his other businesses in town. In 1937, Carlo Petrini opened Petrini’s Cafeteria on Main Street which became one of the most popular restaurants in town because of its great food quality and wide variety of dishes. The restaurant was bought by Harry Siegel in 1971 and renamed Siegel's café after him as part of his effort to promote local foods throughout the community. The restaurant closed down in 1992 but was reopened in 2001 as Gino's Italian Restaurant which continues to serve up delicious Italian cuisine today! Throughout the years, many different cafes have been located within walking distance of each other on Elm Street including: Donny & Marie's place (now defunct), Joe's Cafe (now defunct), Pizzeria Il Giardinetto (closed), Casa della Vecchia Pizza (closed) and more! It is interesting to note that not all these places served good quality caffeine beverages however each had a unique character that made them stand out from the rest!

Fredonia, New York is a small town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. Fredonia is located on the southern shore of Lake Erie at (41.075531, -79.539609). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which is land and is water. The first Europeans to visit what is now Fredonia were traders travelling through the area during the 16th century. The first permanent settler in what is now Fredonia was John Aitken who moved from Scotland in 1676. He founded a trading post on Buffalo Bayou near today's village of Carbondale and named it Fort Aitken after his home countrymen there had done so before him. Other early settlers included George Beattie who arrived in 1707 and erected a log cabin on present-day Beaver Dam Road; James Watt who built an Inn at Beaver Dam in 1764; Alexander Mackenzie who settled along Buffalo Bayou in 1787; Isaac Brock who platted an area around present day Buffalo Falls; and John Purdy who landed at Canandaigua Harbor on May 5, 1802 with his family for what would become Rochester, New York City - one of several groups that set out for America aboard the USS Constitution under Commander Oliver Hazard Perry during its exploration of North America during that year In 1834 Frederick Augustus Beardsley donated parcels from his estate including current day Building 23 to form part of what would come to be known as "Beard's Square", later renamed "Fredonia". As additional lots were donated over time by other citizens or businesses within Frederica Township such as Mrs. Purdy's Piano Shop & Secondhand Store (later changed to Purdy's), much of modern-day Fredonia was developed between 1830s and 1870s primarily due to growth associated with shipbuilding interests clustered around Canandaigua Harbor thanks largely to Captain David McLaughlin along with blast furnaces built ashore adjacent to Canandaigua Creek by local entrepreneurs such as Samuel Morse Sr., #3 Morse & Company During World War II most residents chose not to fight because they could have easily been drafted into military service but many took up arms against Axis forces getting close enough for combat while living off farm incomes or providing goods necessary for survival while Americans remained behind enemy lines After Normandy Liberation all individuals serving in our armed forces are given $25 cash gratuity per diem when departing home shores

Fredonia was a small town in upstate New York, located on the border of Albany and Schenectady counties. The population was 1,500 at the time of its incorporation in 1820. It became Fredonia when it absorbed the villages of Albion, Baldwinsville, Canandaigua, Deer Park, and Horseheads. The first settler in what is now Fredonia was John Fitzpatrick, who arrived about 1795. The community grew rapidly after1800 because of the area's fertility and good soil. In 1820, Fredonia incorporated as a village under the name Albion. Canandaigua followed suit in 1830; Baldwinsville joined them in 1840; Deer Park followed suit in 1850; Horseheads did so in 1860. The Erie Canal passed throughFredonia soon after its incorporation and helped to spur economic development here. In 1825, Alfred Ives opened up the first post office here with five mailbags per day service from Albany-on-the-Hudson River. By 1830(), post offices had been established at both Albion and Canandaigua (although only Canandaigua received mail). In 1834-35 an act was passed by the state legislature which provided for a school district to be formed out of part of Albany County and all of Mohawk County west thereof (an area that included most of present day Fredonia). The district consisted mostly of rural land but also some new settlements such as Elmira and Oneida City (now Oneonta)).
