The ship was used for training and coastal patrols until 1912 when it was decommissioned and sold to the Floral Park Yacht Club. Floral Park is a small town in upstate New York, located on the southern tip of Long Island. The population was 11,898 at the 2010 census. It is within the town of West Babylon and is part of the New York City metropolitan area. The village that once surrounded Floral Park has been demolished, leaving only an open-air parkland remnant. The name "Floral Park" comes from two sources: one source suggests that it derived from "florida," meaning "sweet or fragrant thing," while another suggests that it derives from French parc (open space), which would make sense given that much of what now makes up Floral Park was originally part of West Babylon. In 1795, Nicholas Hogg purchased 1/3 interest in Algonquin Township for £100 and began to develop it into a township with a combined population of 25 people. He named his tract Floral Park after the botanical gardens he had founded in Paris some years earlier. In 1801, he sold his interest in Floral Park to Cyrus McCormick for $2,000 (). McCormick subdivided what are today Dryden and Southampton Streets into lots and built houses there; he also created Lots 12 & 13 on Prospect Street east of Main Street; these Lots were used as race tracks for dogs until 1916 when they became home to the first high school in Nassau County - Yeshiva University (now Hebrew Union College - Brooklyn). On Aug 1st 1870 (the day following NY statehood) John Waddell bought lot No 7 on Manor Road from Cyrus McCormick for $1,500 (). Waddell renamed his lot Garden Row because many early residents grew flowers there including William Mulock who served as Mayor from 1852-1860 and again 1876-1880 and James Sennett who represented district 2 on Long Island State Senate during this time period

Floral Park is a census-designated place in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population was 1,849 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hempstead–East Hampton town area. The community was named after Flora MacDonald who donated land in 1868 for a park andFairchild School (now Fairchild Hills Middle School). The park opened to the public in 1870 and had a population of just over 100 people. In 1881, the village of East Hampton annexed Floral Park and it became an incorporated village with its own police department. In 1924, Floral Park granite quarries closed due to World War I munitions production restrictions. The community's only source of income until that time came from hosting county fairs which were held every year on Sundays near the old quarry site until about 1954 when they were moved to nearby Plainview because of air quality concerns. In 1955, Floral Park voters approved annexation by neighboring Hempstead Township which added 2,000 residents within one year to what was then just under 4,000 residents inFloral Park itself. Although there have been recent efforts to revive some aspects of life in Floral Park such as Preservation Day events and hikes/walks on Saturday mornings (in coordination with neighboring towns), most residents seem content with their current living situation despite some challenges such as high levels of crime rates and lack of access to transportation options outside of Nassau County
Floral Park was founded in 1824 by LIJNARD PARK, a wealthy man from New York City. The land for the park was donated by Major General George Washington and his wife Martha Washington. The first public park in New York City was located on the west side of Manhattan, across from the White House. It was called Prospect Park. In 1828, Floral Park became an official part of New York City and it contained only a small portion of what is now Central Park. In 1854, President James K. Polk commissioned architect John Nash to design a new park on the east side of Manhattan that would encompass all of Central Park and cater to fashionable people from around the world who were visiting NewYork at that time.
