The history of military deployed gift history in Floral Park, New York dates back to the Revolutionary War. The Floral Park Regiment was an infantry regiment that served in the American Revolution. The regiment was organized on November 15, 1775, at the meeting of the town council located in present-day Bloomfield. On December 9, 1775, the regiment was mustered into service and went into action against British forces at Saratoga Springs. The Floral Park Regiment lost its first colonel on April 8, 1776 when Captain John Armstrong died from a battle injury. From then until disbanding in 1802, there were no active Floral Park Regiment units stationed within New York City. In 1802, the Floral Park Regiment reorganized as part of a larger army unit known as 1st Infantry Brigade. This brigade consisted of two regiments (the 2nd and 3rd) plus a company from each of the 4th Infantry Regiments which had been disbanded during hostilities with Spain. In 1804-1805 this brigade fought in various campaigns throughout New York before being disbanded again on July 11, 1805 due to budget cuts by General James Wilkinson ordering all soldiers to be deployed for about three months only for them to return home without their weapons or ammunition. In 1830-1831 1st Cavalry Independent Squadron operated out of Floral Park serving as horse artillery across upstate New York while also engaging Native Americans near Fort Niagara. A replica squadron still operates out of Fayetteville NY today! On October 14th 1862 Union troops under command Major General Ulysses S Grant landed atolito beach north of here disembarking supplies and munitions for his upcoming invasion of Confederate strongholds prior to crossing overland via bridges over Chenango River upstream towards Albany and Buffalo News reported "A scene more beautiful than any seen since the war began appeared off Cohoes Beach...a body Of human beings numbering perhaps Seventy Men had landed...and filled up every space aboard small boats which lay moored offshore)...The men streamed ashore singing 'Halt! Halt! Our work is done'..." Assembling their belongings they set off once again on foot toward what would become known as Liberty Hall where they would spend winter encampment before finally invading southern Georgia along Iuka River just south of Atlanta on January 12th 1863 - one week after Union forces besieged Richmond surrendering Confederate capital city!!! The village of Floral Park was first settled in 1776 by Scots-Irish immigrants from Ulster. They named their land "Fulham," after Fulham, England, where they had been living for some time before coming to America. The original mill and post office were built in 1802 on what is now Main Street. A grant from President James K. Polk in 1902 made Floral Park part of New York City and it became a municipality on April 14, 1912. The people who live near Floral Park are called "the Flock." There are several types of flowers that can be found here: tulips, lilies, violets, daffodils, forget-me-nots, roses, monkshoods and narcissuses. Many people bring their own plants or buy them at local nurseries when they get out of work or during vacations. There are also many events held throughout the year to celebrate different aspects ofFloral Park life such as Flower Fairs every September and May; Arts & Crafts shows each October; Golf tournaments every spring and fall; miniature golf weekends in early summer; annual Cider Festival in late August/early September (a tradition started by one of the citizens); classic car races each winter weekend; poetry readings around mid-summer (usually outdoors on a large lawn adjacent to an art gallery open to the public); performances by local theater groups throughout the year including two seasons worth of free Shakespeare productions at Fordham University's Stuyvesant Theater between July and October.;(And there's always something going on!)

In 1951, Floral Park became home to the United States Military Academy at West Point which remains one of America's most prestigious military academies today. Floral Park has also been used for other cultural events such as opera performances and Wagnerian Festivals. Today, there are several businesses located in or around centralFloralPark that continue to support local culture and economy.

The development of Floral Park began in the 1840s with a small parcel of land between Fordham Road and Third Avenue, which became known as "the park." This area was home to many wealthy families who helped build up what is now one of New York City's most popular neighborhoods. Over time, additional parcels were acquired anddevelopment continued until it encompassed almost all of Floral Park today. The name "Floral Park" comes from two sources: One is from an early map that shows a large orchard near where Third Avenue meets Fordham Road; and another is from an advertising campaign run by Jethro Tull in the late 1800s for their new stadium complex called "The Park." At that time, much of what is now Floral Park had been developed as open space outside of Manhattan due to construction restrictions at that time. Today, Floral Park remains one of New York City's most popular areas both for its beauty and its importance in its local community. Many famous people have lived or worked here including Eleanor Roosevelt (who lived nearby), James Baldwin (whose house can be seen overlooking Floral Park), Broadway stars flats like Gershwin and Bernstein (both who spent time living near Manhattan), tennis legend Billie Jean King and her husband Bobby Riggs (both longtime residents), author Harper Lee (whose house can be found right next to Puckett Playground) and more recent celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio (now a resident) and Justin Bieber (now also living here).
