Endicott, New York is a town in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 11,959 at the 2010 census. Endicott is located on the border of the village of North Nyack and the town of Hawthorne. The first settler in Endicott was Nicholas Rogers who arrived in 1786. He named his land Eclectic Land after himself and his brother-in-law James Eclectic. In 1823, Captain John Fenton bought from Nicholas Rogers all that remained of what had once been the townships of Hawthorne and North Nyack. He renamed it Endicott after himself and changed its western boundary to include part of what is now Valhalla Heights. In 1848, Samuel Morse moved his family to Endicott from Hartford Connecticut after becoming interested in technology development there. Samuel's son Edward became one of America's leading electrical engineers and founded Eastern Electric Company (later GE) here in 1876. The townspeople voted to move their post office two miles south to better serve their growing community during the late 1800s; this vote led to incorporation as a borough on December 2, 1898 by an act of the New York State Legislature under Governor Andrew Johnson with local control following three years later when township status was restored by an act passed by Cuomo pursuant to RESTORE Act mandate Today’s residents are descendants of these early settlers with origins dating back centuries including: Amasa Morse (1811-1892), Jonas Salk (1902-1974), Irving Berlin (1928-2013), Edwin Demarest (1893-1976) and numerous others Borough president Joanne Bogan has served since 2002 On November 5th 2018 Mayor Joanne Bogan announced she will be stepping down effective January 1st 2019 citing personal reasons

Endicott is a small town in western Connecticut which lies on the border of New York and Vermont. The population was 5,471 at the 2010 census. Endicott is one of the oldest towns in Connecticut and has been settled since 1636. It is named for Nicholas-Jacques de Montresor, 1st Viscount Endicott, an Englishman who founded a trading post here in 1636. The early settlers were farmers, but by 1800 Endicott had become an important manufacturing center with tanning and paper production being its primary industries. In 1825, John Morse became the first settler to own land in what would later be Endicott Township. Morse's mill was located near present day Church Street and he also built a house there which still stands today. In 1875, five families from Norwich bought tracts of land east of Endicott Creek to establish what would become Norwich Township. This area eventually became known as Farmington because many of the early settlers there were farmworkers from Farmington, Connecticut who came to work on various farms in this new township. The name change followed suit when most of Farmington Borough (laterNorwich) was annexed by Norwich during annexation process that started in 1892. In 1941, Norwich Township merged with Wellesley County to create well-known suburban community called North Attleboro – home to major employers such as Northeastern University and Raytheon Missile Defense Site – making it easy for people living outside Norwich Township to get their lives completely intertwined with those within it without ever having to leave their homes or neighborhoods! Today the town remains largely agricultural with a few light industry businesses accounting for about one-third of all employment hereabouts; however some recent developments have brought about some welcome changes including plans for a new high school/college campus (to be completed by 2020), additional housing development (including several very large apartment buildings), retail shops/restaurants inside city limits as well as significant progress being made towards building a new library/museum complex on Town Common!
