This allowed James Roebuck Jr.'s father to focus more on running his business instead of marketing and salesmanship. After James Roebuck Jr.'s death in 1825, both shops passed down into the hands of their respective heirs until they were acquired by Joe Gibbs Coffee Company in 1916. Joe Gibbs Coffee Company continued making Tactical Coffee until 1992 when it was discontinued due to quality control issues with its product line. It is interesting to note that even though Tactical Coffee was discontinued, its legacy lives on through Joe Gibbs Coffee Company's efforts to provide high-quality products every day."
