Dobbs Ferry, New York is a small town in Sullivan County, New York, United States. The population was 1,562 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Rochester–New Rochelle, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1824 by John Dobbs and his family. The first coffee house in Dobbs Ferry opened in 1830. In 1892, local entrepreneur J.H. Nicholson set up a grocery store and cafe in what is now the restaurant district of Dobbs Ferry. Nicholson's coffee shop served as the nucleus for what would become one of the most well-known artisan coffeehouses in America, The Green Dragon Coffee House & Tavern (now known as Joe's Cafe), which opened its doors on December 3rd, 1992. In 2002-2003, two years afterJoes Cafe closed its doors due to financial difficulties - it reopened as The Artisan Coffee Company - with three roasters from Warner Robins, Georgia: Davidoff Coffee Roasters; Peet's Coffee & Donuts; and Dutch Bros.' Grocery chain had an open invitation to participate including brewing their own espresso beans direct to customer cups using their new Stonington Technology line of machines at their showroom on Main Street in front of the post office building across from Dean Weisner Elementary School - joined forces with National Coffee Association (NCA) member Starbucks also invited to exhibit their products side-by-side at 'Coffee conclave' event organized by NCA held at Webster Hall April 8th thru 10th 2005 In Dobbs Ferry only!

Dobbs Ferry is a small town in upstate New York, located on the banks of the Hudson River. It was founded by Nicholas Dobbs in 1776 and became a center for coffee production in the 1800s. The first coffee beans were roasted here in 1802. In 1916, Dobbs Ferry was renamed after its founder, and it became an official city in 1970.
Dobbs Ferry is a small town in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 712 at the 2010 census. It is located on the southern shore of Long Island Sound and forms part of the Sligo-Leitrim Census Area. The town was named for General James Dobbs, who served as military governor of New York during the American Revolution. The first settler in Dobbs Ferry was Abram Morse, who built a log cabin around 1810. In 1834, John Fenton bought land in what is now Dobbs Ferry and began to build a house on it. He named his house "Fenton's Cabin". By 1835, Fenton had moved his family to what is now Northampton Avenue in Dobbs Ferry and started to build a second home there. In 1836, he sold his original home and property to George Washington Snyders. Snyders renamed it "Snyders' Landing".In 1840, Josiah Purdy bought land from Purdy's father-in-law Samuel Wessels near present day Northampton Avenue and started building a house there too. In 1850, he sold his house to Levi Coffin which became known as "Coffin's Hill". In 1865, Nathaniel Shearman came to Dobbs Ferry from nearby Westchester County and began building houses on what are now South Street and Main Street. Shearman named his house "Shearman's Harbor" after himself. By 1870, Shearman had moved all of his homes north onto what is now Causeway Boulevard (now Route 9). By 1880, Shearman had also built a large mill that operated until 1907; it still stands today on the east side of Main Street between South Street and Causeway Boulevard. After losing its sawmill business in 1907 due to deregulation by the US Treasury Department following World War I,[1] DobBS ferry again became an agricultural community with several stores catering to farmers from surrounding towns such as Leitrim (west) and Sligo Junction (east). A post office opened at Dobbstown in 1916,[2] but closed two years later because of high postage rates set by the US Postal Service.[3] After many failed attempts at starting their own small farm store,[4][5] Roy Jantz founded Jantz Farms in 1948 which would become one of the largest producers of blueberries on Long Island[6][7]. Jantz died in 1984.[8] A new elementary school was dedicated at Cove Road & Main Street in 1990,[9][10] followed by another elementary school (grades 1-3) just south of Cove Road & Middle Road across from First Baptist Church beginning operations September 1991.[11][12][13][14][15]: two other elementary schools were established northeast of Cove Road & Middle Road: Parkland Intermediate School serving students up through 5th grade[16], followed by Sunrise Elementary School serving students 6-8th grade beginning operations October 2002:[17]: both have since been closed down due to budget cuts that have impacted many communities throughout Nassau County

However, some key points about artisan coffee history may include: 1) The first espresso machines were built in the 18th century by Luigi Robbiani and Angelo Borsato. 2) Coffee became popularized in Europe through the Dutch trading company Koffiehuis in 1652. 3) In 1795, Giovanni Battista Peruzzi began making espresso beans himself at his house on Via San Lorenzo in Rome. 4) By 1875, all of Italy had its own coffee houses, including Milan’s Rialto Palace where Emperor Napoleon was served his morning cup of Joe. 5) By 1903, Nestle had acquired a controlling interest in Koffiehuis and began producing their own branded coffee products under the name “Nestle French Roast Coffee”. 6) Italianate architecture gradually replaced traditional Italianate design throughout much of the 20th century as high-end Manufacturers sought to distance themselves from low-quality local produce. 7) However, artisan coffee remained a popular beverage until the early 21st century when it fell out of favor due to higher-quality competition from mass-produced coffee beans.

Dobbs Ferry is a small town in western New York, United States. It is located on the Chenango River, about 12 miles (19 km) north of the village of Dobbs Ferry and 26 miles (41 km) south of Syracuse. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. The first mention of Dobbs Ferry occurs in 1624 when John English built a ferry on the Chenango River from Saybrook to Schenectady. After years of service by English traders, settlers and Native Americans, the ferry became an important transportation artery between these two villages during the 18th century. In 1792, George Washington crossed the river at Dobbs Ferry on his way to battle with British forces near Saratoga Springs. In 1814, following Battle of Bull Run against Napoleonic France, American General Nicholas Senate ordered all military supplies carried overland from Albany through eastern New York to join General Philip Schuyler in Virginia. As part of this move, Senator ordered Colonel John Armstrong to build a canal across the Chenango River at Dobbs Ferry which would facilitate this movement and provide easier access for troops and supplies moving back and forth between Albany and Richmond Heights on Long Island Sound. On July 14th 1815 Armstrong completed his canal crossing just one week after its inauguration; thus becoming only the second person ever to build such a canal from east to west in America! The first was Colonel Darius Noyes who built it from Georgian Bay down along Lake Ontario’s southern shoreline in 1794-95! Today you can still see evidence of Armstrong’s Canal including several bridge spans still standing above water upriver from where he constructed them – an amazing accomplishment for such a short distance! Dobbs Ferry also saw another milestone during this time; as one side was opened up for farming by Elijah Howe & Sons beginning in 1865 until they closed their business due to lack of customers; while other businesses thrived like Pillsbury's Grain Elevator which went into operation in 1895; making it one of only three mills within 25 miles (40 km) of Buffalo City limits that operated until 1975! This mill produced flour for many local eastern NY towns like Rome (now Rochester), Auburn Hills (Aurora), Sodus Falls (Sodus Point), Lockport (Lockport Landing), White Plains Junction...the list goes on! Today there are few if any businesses open wide day or night outside main shopping streets - but that doesn't mean life isn't busy inside those stores - especially when there are events scheduled throughout town each year like Oktoberfest or Christmas Festival! And don't forget about all those people who work hard every day helping support these businesses - everyone deserves recognition no matter what they do for a living...or maybe just something special they enjoy doing outdoors?
