The following year, they gave away over 20 thousand pounds (11000 kg)of produce from local farms throughout New York state in order to support Special Olympics events across New York City; this was also their largest donation ever made at that time! In 2002, they donated more than 18000 pounds (10000 kg)of pasta products towards Feeding America’s homeless hunger relief programs through Project Angel Food! And lastly but not least, in 2007 they donated 100 boxes (8kg each)of canned goods specifically for hurricane Katrina victims! These are just a few examples from throughout their history where marines have contributed so much publically – it truly shows their dedication and love for our Armed Forces!

Cortland, New York is a small town in upstate New York. The population was 6,512 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cortland-Milton-East Hampton, NY Micropolitan Statistical Area. The town was first settled in 1792 by colonists from Connecticut and Rhode Island. They named it for General George Washington's home state of Virginia. In 1814, the town was renamed for Hormisdas Cortland, who had been a brigadier general in the American Revolution and an advocate of western settlement. The name stuck and today it refers to a primarily rural area within the Town of East Hampton that straddles both banks of the River Ronkonkoma. Cortland's economy depends on agriculture, though there are also some manufacturing facilities and services available. Cortland, New York is a town in Cortland County, New York, United States. The population was 5,854 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cortland County. The first known inhabitants of what is now Cortland were two families who settled there in 1795 and 1800. In 1814, the town was organized as a village by act of the New York State Legislature. On July 24, 1815, it became a town by an act of the same legislature. In 1840, Cornelius Vanderbilt established his shipping company at Jamaica Bay and started to sell goods from his flagship vessel "Nimble." This led to development in what is now downtown Cortland and new businesses opened up including a bank (1841), cotton gin (1842), gristmill (1845), sawmill (1846), livery stable (1850) and Post Office (1851). In 1863-64 American Civil War veteran General Wm Halleck arranged for artillery fire on Fort Erie to shell Buffalo ahead of Union forces advancing into central New York during their campaign against Confederate General Robert E Lee; this event helped increase tourism in our area which had been small before then. After the war ended Nathan Hale served as Mayor of Cortland until he was killed while serving a prison sentence in 1876. As technology advanced cortLAND experienced rapid growth with many new businesses opening up such as internet cafes, software design firms and even real estate companies starting up throughout 2007 along with continued construction activity that has resulted in over 40000 jobs created since 2002 including 3000 jobs within just 10 years! Today more than 20% of all employees are located Downtown with many moreLOCATIONS coming online every day!
