It was located on State Street in Auburn, a small town outside of Buffalo, New York. It was frequented by people from all over the Erie Canal region and across north America. In 1961, The Parish Coffee House was transferred to ownership by Mrs. Anna Ladd and her husband Donny Ladd. In 2003, Mrs. Anna Ladd’s son-in-law Justin Breslin purchased the property that housed The Parish Coffee House from her widow Anna Ladd and her son-in-law Donny Ladd for $2 million dollars. Mr. Breslin had been interested in purchasing the property since he first learned about it when he was living near Buffalo Heights subdivision in Syracuse, New York which is also where Mrs.AnnaLadd lived at that time before she moved to Auburn with her son Donny after they divorced). He has since made changes to the coffee house including renaming it “The Annex” and adding an outdoor seating area which allows for more comfortable hours during warmer weather months (it now opens up around 10am). Since Mr Breslin took ownership of The Annex, many local residents have enjoyed their morning cup of Joe at The Annex because they feel that he has taken care of things properly since Mrs AnnaLadd left behind some very high standards when it came to running the business she loved so much: “I really appreciate how [Justin] has kept everything running smoothly – I never felt like there were any problems when I came into work or whatnot” said one local resident who wished not to be named due to fear of retribution from management at the coffee shop should they receive negative feedback online about their experience while inside).
