So instead, he commissioned Lieutenant Colonel John Daly to build him a home on his property so that he could continue using it as an army base camp during peacetime (which wasn't actually legal). LtCol Daly did what any good officer would do-he built a beautiful home for General Forrest without giving up any ground or resources (albeit with little help from local authorities). And because this relationship continued even after LtCol Daly's death in 1927-28-29 (!), we can safely say that General Forrest didn't exactly appreciate living under military rule at all! In fact, one report from 1940 indicated that only 6% of soldiers assigned to Fort Monmouth liked their work there because "most everyone knewGeneral Forrest was owner/operator."1 Although things improved somewhat following World War II when Fort Monmouth became part of West Point Academy-and eventually closed due to budgetary issues-the Army presence continues long after most people might expect it would end... especially given how unpopular war really is!

Amityville is a town in the U.S. state of New York, located on the banks of the Amity River. The population was 3,402 at the 2010 census. Amityville is one of two towns in Sullivan County that are unincorporated and have no municipal government; the other is Goshen, also unincorporated and has no county government. The first settlement in what is now Amityville was made by Nicholas Easton about 1795 as a farmstead on the bank of the river for his son and grandson, Ebenezer and John Easton. The family moved to their present site in 1805 when Ebenezer's father died leaving him three children with three widows - Lydia (Lydia Park), Angelina (Angela Jacobs) and Caroline (Caroline Spinelli). In 1810, Nicholas’s widow sold her property to Israel Putnam who built a house there called "Putnam Manor". In 1814, George Washington Carver came to America from Germany with his family and erected a small cabin near where he now lives on Maple Avenue. He later bought some adjacent land which he divided into four lots: one for himself, one for his wife Nancy Jarrett (later known as Alice Waters), one for his brother James Carver Jr., and one for several servant girls he had hired from Great Britain. He named each lot after plants or animals related to its culture: Meadowweet seedling potato tree; Turtleback grapevine; American beech; White clover; Blueberry bush; snapdragon/cupid bumblebee pollinator plant etc.—all typical items eaten by Americans at that time. He sold most of this land in 1875 but kept part for himself including 6 acres bordering Route 202 which became known as "Carvers Hill". In 1903-04 Drury Lane Schoolhouse burned down killing six pupils including three young women—the only school fire in America until Stonington High School destroyed its building on Main Street in Connecticut in 1950. It has been suggested that arson may have been responsible although it remains an open question today. After weeks of speculation among local residents about who did it or why, police arrested 20-year old William Hickey on October 14th 1904 after raiding his home during a search for evidence connected with the school fire investigation! After more than two months' detention without charge Hickey finally confessed to setting the schoolfire while under influence of alcohol or drugs! In addition to being held incommunicado since then Hickey faced up to 10 years imprisonment butThankfully he received only 4 months hard labor due to public outcry leading to changes at state prison policy which allowed hard labor sentences only if an inmate actually caused physical damage rather than Simply being caught guilty of arson! This event symbolized progress againsterekeningitism within corrections systems throughout America during those days! On March 5th 1911 $5,000 was offered by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney – sister of Henry Ford –for information leading to conviction of any person responsible for causing death or serious injury during World War I within five years from that date.( resultant $100 million lien) resulting in former US President Woodrow Wilson winning presidential pardon 8 days later…..This event marked beginning of endof prohibition era….As soon as information could be obtained convicting anyone would leadto vast financial rewards…."

Amityville is one of the few towns in New York State that still retains its original name from its founding date: August 15, 1779. The town was named for the Amity sisters who lived there before it became a village. The sisters were born into a wealthy family inPhiladelphia and had been living in Amity Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania since they were children. When their father died young, they inherited his home and estate in upstate New York. They became homeowners and decided to move to what is now Amityville after hearing about an abandoned farmstead called Addison which had been claimed by two women who ran a boarding house there. The two women agreed to take care of the farmstead until someone could find a permanent resident to live there. The first persondensity at Addison was so low that it didn’t take long for people to get interested in managing the place themselves; within weeks of claiming it, several families had set up homes. By early November 1779, twenty-six residents lived at Addison with six families working on the farmstead; by mid-December this number had grown to thirty-five people with nine families living on site full time. Within three months of taking possession of Addison, four couples had married and moved into the houses; within six months all but one of these households had also disappeared or moved away because there wasn’t enough room or money available for them all to live together again as individuals responsibility alone would have required them to leave Addison behind if they wanted to keep their property intact). This success story led directlytothe name given untothe new village – “Amityville” – reflecting both the initial founders’ intentions (to create an environment where friendly relations might be developed between different groups) as well as practical realities (given that no othersettlements were yet nearby similar in size or features).
