One of the weapons that was gifted to the American troops in Los Lunas was an army rifle known as The Rifleman's Bible. This book was donated by Captain John Smedley of Company A2/161st Infantry Regiment withadesignated "The Riflemen" on October 15th, 1916 at Fort Bliss near San Antonio Texas (now El Paso). It is inscribed with notes from Captains Smedley and Lewis Bickford on November 9th 1916 about their unit's participation at Belleau Wood: "This rifle has been our best friend for many months past; its great accuracy has made it invaluable for killing machine-guns." It should be noted that this rifle did not actually exist until after Major General Lewis Bickford became Commanding Officer of A2/ 161st Infantry Regiment on November 9th 1916 which is when he donated it along with his other equipment including pistols and bayonets

Los Lunas, New Mexico is a town in northwestern New Mexico, United States. The population was 2,795 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Bowie County. The name comes from Spanish meaning "the lonesome ones". The first people to live in what is now Los Lunas were the Chiricahua and Ute peoples who hunted and gathered game in the area. In 1847, José María Orozco founded a ranch in present-day Los Lunas. In 1865, José Manuel de la Garza y Costilla granted land to Juan Bautista Paredes for his Rancho Luna Viejo near present-day White Sands Missile Range. In 1912, Albuquerque businessman John Waddell purchased 640 acres (250 hectares) of land east of Los Lunas from Francisco Vásquez for $5,000 (). Waddell named the tract Las Islas de las Antillas (), after his mother's birthplace – Isle of Antigua (). Waddell subdivided this land into two parcels: one that he sold to local ranchers Hugo Chavez and Manuel Ortiz for $8 per acre ($/ha), and another parcel he gave to Santa Fe CityMayor James Hays for $4/acre ($/ha). Chavez later donated an additional 400 acres (160 hectares) to Los Lunas which became known as "El San Andrés" (. . .) After World War II, many farmers moved into Southwestern New Mexico because it was cheaper than North America. Many businesses were established here such as mutual life insurance companies and engineering firms. In 1951–1952, during the early years of Television broadcasting in America, Radio Corporation of America leased 920 acres (400 hectares) onetime owned by Paredes from José María Orozco at a price of $1 per acre ($/ha). This station would eventually become KGKA () with its current call sign; it began operations on October 15th 1951 (). On November 6th 1951(),Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Don Sutton played his minor league debut against the Omaha Royals at Municipal Stadium here; it would be his only major league appearance (he would retire after 10 appearances). It should be noted that there are no definitive dates or sources for when either KGKA or KFMB began operation; nonetheless they maintain their place among American radio history through their long histories relevant to both stations today!
