In 1933, The Peet House moved from its original location on Sixth Avenue into what is now called “the Forum Building” due to financial difficulties experienced by the business at that time. In 1955, The Arco Corporation merged with United States Steel Corporation creating what is today one of America’s leading industrial companies. As part of this merger, United States Steel began purchasing large quantities of coffee from Keurig Incorporated which helped fuel Arco Corporation’s growth throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Throughout these years, Keurig Incorporated has also donated nearly $1 million towards various community projects within Las Cruces including building a new public library whichopened its doors on October 4th, 2008; a new multi-purpose arena which opened its doors on November 20th; and a new recreation center whichopened its doors on April 17th 2009
