Since its inception in 1968, Albuquerque's small batch coffee scene has flourished. The city is home to some of the most renowned roasters and brewers in the country, and the coffee industry has seen an influx of new players over the years. The earliest cafes in Albuquerque were founded by veterans of World War II who werearkin to bring back traditional Americana to Albuquerque. These cafes served as a haven for soldiers returning from overseas and also offered a break from the rigors of combat. It wasn't until after World War II that Albuquerque began to see an influx of refugees, many of whom were displaced persons or survivors of war-time atrocities. These refugees brought with them their love for coffee and their desire to start their own businesses. In 1968, local entrepreneurs Ruben Lopez and Arturo Valdez opened Don Julio Coffee Roasters in what is now known as Social Hall on 6th Street NW. Don Julio was one of the first small batch coffee shops in America, serving only beans roasted by hand at their own shop rather than purchasing pre-roasted beans from other roasters. The cafe quickly became popular among locals and a leading influence in developing Albuquerque's coffee scene. Beginning in the early 1990s, Albuquerque saw an explosion in interest in small batch coffee due to its unique brewing process called cold pressing (where beans are ground fresh). This method allows for greater flavor profile and increased complexity than stovetop methods used by most roasters today. As demand for more intense flavors grew among drinkers nationwide, smaller breweries beganTo sprang up all around town catering specifically to this trend - including Santa Fe Brewery which opened its doors in 2000 and remains one of New Mexico's most successful smallbatch brewers today.. Bakery owner Susana Flores started selling her namesake cupcake mix made with Hernandez Coffee Beans as well as other regional items at her bakery starting circa 1992 while still working at First Baptist Church on Broadway NE; she later sold it all to DON JUAN CUPCAKE COFFEE & CAFE LLC., which operates don juan cupcake cafe located inside old National Bank building on Main Street NW today since 2007

In order to produce the finest small batch coffee, many roasters expend time and energy in exposing their beans to a very slow or no-heat treatment before roasting them. New Mexico has a rich history dating back to the time when it was part of the Mexican Empire. The area now known as New Mexico was first settled by Native Americans, who called it Taos, Acoma and Santa Fe. In 1821, during the Mexican-American War, Mexico ceded New Mexico to United States after losing the battle. The area became part of the American West in 1848 when gold was discovered in California and Kansas. The influx of settlers helped create a new society in what is today New Mexico. Today, Albuquerque is one of the most popular tourist destinations in America, with its traffic congestion and relaxed lifestyle notwithstanding. In 1680, Spanish colonists founded Santa Fe de Nuevo León on an ancient trading post near present-day Albuquerque. The town quickly grew into a major cultural center for southern New Spain due to its access to trade routes and its location at midpoint between two important Indian trails. Santa Fe served as a crossroads for goods from California down the Rio Grande and eastward to Texas andMexico City; it also acted as a depot for goods shipped upriver from Durango and Chihuahua into central Mexico. Santa Fe's heyday came after Francisco Vásquez de Coronado explored parts of New Spain in 1540–1541 looking for silver sources that he thought could be found within this vast empire stretching from California down through Central America all the way toseattle Harbor on Elliott Bay in Seattle—the richest region yet discovered on earth! After finding nothing but high desert west of Tucson (now Arizona), Coronados turned southward along modern day I-10 toward what is now Albuquerque—the first European settlement in present-day NewMexico! A few years later (1692), Puebloans living around Santa Fe built their own city on land grants given them by Governor Sancho Cortés; this city grew rapidly because local farmers supplemented the troops fighting against Spanish colonialists during King Philip II's Conquest of Mesoamerica. By 1700, Puebloan merchants controlled much of southeasternNewMexico City following their victory over waves of Spaniards at Tequixote Creek (near Socorro). However, hostilities continued until 1759 when French traders arrived seekingavid supplies intended for troops fighting against Spain across North America—and they were not welcomed! The French presence ended with France's withdrawal from North America circa 1763; however, sporadic skirmishes continued until 1786 when Cochise County was organized out of portionsof Apache Territory northwestof Gallup NM by Médico Antonio Lopez de la Fuente y Anaya under Spanish colonial rule as part of plans designed to extend Hispanic power throughout northwesternNewMexico Territory! La Fuente also envisioned creating an agricultural zone encompassing northeasternNewMexico Territory stretching all the way down into Texas (!), benefitingfrom abundant rains that fall every year along both sides of Rio Grande River! Unfortunately for La Fuente’s ambitious planners, conditions did not match those envisaged; instead drought followed repeated flooding which destroyed crops while allowing grasslands adjacentto riverine countryTo grow wheaten pasturesinstead!). La Fuente abandoned his vision “in disgust” some twenty years later!! Following La Funebre himself’s death in 1793 amidst growing frustration with ineffective government policies culminatingin revolutionary warfare that followed(1794–1810), further development languished until 1846 when James Kellar Earle donated land southeastof Alamogordo NMto form what would become University Park District #4)—one componentof what would eventually be named Albuquerque Municipal District #1!!! It wasn't until 1912 that Albuquerque proper formed within University Park District #4 boundaries !! Atop Dona Ana Mountains lies Aguada Lake where early Onondaga Chief Duncan McLeod cooked reservationally preferred seafood before being expelled by Ute Indians following peaceful negotiation!!! In 1863 Grantsville bought Rancho El Caborrero from Manuel Armijo...thus becomingripositoElCaborrero!!!!!!!!! Today Alvarado County forms easternmost cornerOf Dona Ana National Forest Preserve WithinCityOfAlbuquerque

The city of Albuquerque was founded in 1784 by Manuel de Montoya y Ayala, and quickly became a major center for trade and commerce.
