Wallington, New Jersey is a town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 7,823 at the 2010 census. Wallington is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The first coffee crop in Wallington was grown on an acreage near what is now the intersection of Routes 202 and 895 in 1848 by James W. Baldwin and his brother-in-law Augustus Biddle. In 1865, Elias Howe bought land adjacent to Baldwin's farm and began cultivating coffee there for sale to customers in Philadelphia. In 1892, J.B. Saunders purchased from Elias Howe two acres of land that had been used for manufacturing explosives prior to its purchase by Saunders; he renamed it "Wallington Coffee Estate". By 1912, Saunders' descendants were producing over a hundred thousand pounds of coffee each year onsite and shipping it off to various destinations around the world through their five stores and twelve warehouses across Hunterdon County (now Montgomery County). In 1914–15, Wilson Harwood set up a small mill in Wallington which processed beans from local farmers into ground coffee for sale throughout the region. The mill continued operation until 1977 when it was replaced by a larger one operated by Koffee Klatch Inc.. In 1968–69, Mayor John Hynes donated $10,000 towards construction of a new high school which became Wallington High School after Hynes' death in 1966; the money was later repaid with interest as part of an effort led by then Superintendent Donnellan Bellini to improve public education opportunities in Wallington during the 1970s and 1980s. Today,Wallington Coffee has three retail locations: one located at 190 Broad Street; one located at 209 Main Street; and one located at 309 Walnut Avenue (formerly known as "The Mill"). Additionally, they operate an online store as well as four café locations (two inside municipal buildings - OneSteel Arena & OneHighSchool) throughout Mercer County including West Deptford Township (Haddonfield), Camden Borough (Camden), East Brunswick Township (East Brunswick), and Gloucester Borough (Gloucester). All cafés serve light snacks such as bagels or Breakfast burritos while also serving coffees made fresh every morning on site using whole bean Arabica beans sourced from local farmers who are contacted via phone or email before harvesting season begins so that they can provide flavor variety along with altitude flexibility necessary for optimal grind quality.

Some of the earliest references to coffee can be found in ancient Greece, where it was mentioned as a drink available only to the gods. Coffee began being grown on estates in Arabia Felix in the 6th century AD, and soon after spread throughout much of South Asia. In China, roasted beans were used as currency between cities during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Coffee became an official beverage in Chile in 1810, and soon after moved up into Peru and Bolivia. In Brazil, coffeepot brewing began occurring at an early date – according to one report, “cafés da cidade” (city cafes) were first opened in Recife in 1796. The first espresso machines appeared in Italy during the time of Napoleon I (1804-1814), although they did not become common until after his fall from power. Throughout history, coffee has been used for various purposes: as a source of nutrition; as a social lubricant; as an abortifacient; and even as a pesticide! Wallington, New Jersey is a small town located in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 911 at the 2010 census. Wallington has been inhabited by Native Americans for over 350 years and was originally named "Wallingford" after the nearby wallowing of horses. The first European settler in what is now Wallington was John Walsh who arrived around 1730. He built a cabin on the original site of present-day Wallington High School. The first store in what is now Wallington opened in 1824 by Solomon Hahn and his son Jonas Hahn. Jonas built the first mill on the east side of Route 11 near present-day Middle Road. The early settlers were farmers who grew corn, potatoes, wheat, apples, grapes and other vegetables; they also raised livestock such as cows and pigs. A post office called Wallington was established in 1827, and remained in operation until 1860. In 1859, two brothers named Peter and John Ewing founded the First National Bank of America (now part of JPMorgan Chase). They opened a branch at 4th Street and Market Hall Avenue; this bank became one of the most important banks in Mercer County until it failed during the Panic of 1907. The Ewings also operated a farm that supplied bread to local families until their death in 1908 from tuberculosis aged only 44 years old – an event which remainsNotable In Mercer County History according to Wayne Barrett's book "Mercer County: A Comprehensive History" As success came for First National Bank however there were no corresponding advances or advancements made forWallINGTON throughout much of its existence - primarily due to lack thereof downtown presence ( unlike some other NJ towns that saw rapid growth through annexations or incorporation) This lack offercame across many aspects including BUSINESSES OWNED & OPERATED BY NONMERCER COUNTY CITIZENS - with few if any businesses coming into being within downtown Wallsington proper WHICH BEGAN TO STRENGTHEN DOWNTOWN WALLINGTON AS AGAIN THE VERY FIRST TIME IN OVER 100 YEARS! Wallington was a town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 1,835 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Trenton-Ewing metropolitan area. The first European to visit Wallington was Giovanni da Verrazzano in 1524. He named it "Vallone" after his home village of Vallona in Italy. Wallington developed as a small farming community with several stores and one school until 1881 when it became an incorporated town under the name of Valley Forge Township. In 1903, the township merged with Hunterdon County to form Hunterdon County Borough. The Wallington post office was established on November 14, 1814 by Samuel Waddell from Wallington Township and opened on December 2nd. On January 3rd, 1865, postmaster John Gummere moved from Catonsville to take over from Samuel Waddell and continued operations until May 25th when he resigned due to illness. From 1865-1867 James Ritchie served as Postmaster which is also documented as being the first time that an African American had held that position in Hunterdon County In 1889 Union Oil Company began drilling for oil in what would become known as Big Branch Field and soon after erected a large oil refinery there which processed crude oil obtained from Big Branch Field into gasoline and other products marketed throughout Pennsylvania In 1902 local residents formed a group opposing consolidation with neighboring communities because they felt that their individuality would not be preserved within an enlarged borough . The referendum result shows that nearly two thirds of voters opposed annexation but incorporation into borough occurred anyway effective July 1st 1902
