After World War II ended, many businesses closed their doors due to lack of demand or competition from other areas in Eastern New Jersey which were experiencing rapid economic growth during that period; however, some later reopened such as Commodore’s Seafood who reopened after years of closure following a fire that destroyed their original business location on Market Street in 1986). In October 2008, one year since Hurricane Sandy impacted northeastern NJ (and much of Atlantic Canada), local residents voted unanimously to rename their city “Ventnor City” recognizing its role as one of hardest hit areas by Hurricane Sandy and its resulting damage yardsale caused by flooding throughout most parts of town from stormwater runoff entering streetslots inexpertly sealed with manhole covers not intended for overflow purposes only days after landfall).
