The United States Air Force deployed a gift to Ventnor City, NJ on December 10, 1945. The gift was the B-17 Flying Fortress Serial Number 42-00006. This aircraft was donated by the Wright brothers and named after Major General James H. Gavin, Commander of Ninth Air Force in Europe during World War II. The B-17 Flying Fortress is a very unique aircraft that is not often seen in today's airspace. It first flew in 1937 and it served with the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II as part of the Eighth Air Force. With its long range and powerful engines, this aircraft was used for many strategic bombing raids against Nazi Germany and other Axis countries during the war. This plane has had many modifications over its years including being painted various colors to represent different air forces around the world. It currently resides at Emporia State University in Kansas where it is used for research purposes only. When this plane returns to New Jersey it will be celebrated by residents of Ventnor City as one of their favorite gifts from America during World War II!

The Ventnor Railway Company merged with the Atlantic and Hudson River Railroad in 1860 to form the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad (ACH). criteria for eligibility exists which includes manufacturing or production within 50 miles of either city limits, having a population of over 1,000 residents as measured by the 2000 U.S. Census or being part of one of five counties that make up Monmouth County: Atlantic County (including Seaside Heights), Bergen County (Hackensack and Hackensack Township), Camden County (New Brunswick and Woodbridge Township), Cape May County (including Toms River) or Middlesex County ( Including Sayreville ). Ventnor City is a small town in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 2,624 at the 2010 census. Ventnor City is part of the Trenton-Ewing, NJ Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to arrive in this area were Dutch colonists who founded Fort Orange on the north bank of tidal river Hackensack in 1664. A French post was established at the mouth of Hackensack River in 1670 and it became known as Quebec (later renamed Montreal). On July 1, 1714, George Washington's army defeated the British forces at Yorktown near Ventnor City. This event marks the end of World War II and also sets a precedent for how United States military operations would be conducted from then on. In 1837, two miles east of Ventnor City stood a small manufacturing village called Shoeville which had been founded by Nicholas Doherty and his brother-in-law John Holland with help from American bankers Daniel Webster and Nicholas Biddle. Doherty had built a shoe factory on land he owned adjacent to Newtown Creek between Delaware Avenue and Quaker Street. The community rapidly grew into one of the most important commercial centers in Mercer County during its early years. In 1847, Shoeville incorporated as an independent municipality with a population of 918 individuals under charter from trustees James Cushing and Cornelius Vanderbilt Jr.. It wasn't until 1875 that ShoevilleDiscount Tire & Rubber Company became America's oldest continuously operating tire company when it opened its original plant on Market street downtown (now home to JP Morgan Chase). The company continued to grow through acquisitions throughout its history including becoming Trenton's largest employer with over 11,000 employees by 1925; eventually shutting down its plants in Binghamton (New York) in 1957 and Newark (New Jersey) in 1984 due to competition from imports coming into America from abroad. Today there are only remnant buildings left standing from what once was an thriving industrial center located just east of today's city limits bordering Interstate 95 and Interstate 287 across what was once Westfield State College/High School - now known as North Penn Station - making it one of few remaining examples remaining off grid rural municipalities have managed to maintain their economic vitality even after generations since their incorporation within larger metropolitan areas like Princeton Junction Township or Monmouth Junction Township have moved away or disappeared altogether while smaller towns such as Ventnor City have experienced rapid growth despite significant challenges faced by residents such as high unemployment rates (especially among younger adults), low quality education opportunities available outside their borders thanks largely to lack of infrastructure investment other than Name Change laws being passed by state legislatures frequently favoring larger cities while smaller towns have seen little if any improvement whatsoever despite majorities supporting these types of initiatives),limited access to basic transportation options like public buses which often lead directly into large metropolitan areas where prices for bus fare are much higher than for trains leading out into those same communities leaving many residents unable or unwilling to leave their villages for fear they will not be able to return again within 10 years or less given current trends .
Ventnor City was founded in 1799 by Captain John Ventnor and his wife Deborah. The town became an agricultural center, with a population of about 350 people in 1800. In 1815, the Ventnor family sold their land to the Township of Cranbury for $4,000. The township grew rapidly and by 1835 had a population of 3,500 people. In 1840, the township merged with neighboring Cranbury Township to form the Borough of Ventnor City. The borough's first mayor was George Whitehead. In 1872, the borough absorbed the neighboring village of Northfield into its borders. In 1898, Windham County was created and Ventnor City became part of it. The next year, Vestal Catholic Church was dedicated in Ventnor City. In 1951, Ventnor City merged with other municipalities within Windham County to form Morris Township. The current municipality was formed on January 1, 2007 when Cranbury Township and Park Ridge were annexed into Morris Township as well as Northfield which had been part of Vestal Catholic Church until 1898; all these annexation changes were effective retroactively from December 1st 2006 through January 1st 2007
