The Coast Guard Auxiliary in Secaucus, New Jersey is one of the oldest and most important organizations within the Coast Guard. It was founded in 1919 as a volunteer organization to help protect the coastline from damage by storms and other vessels. The Auxiliary has grown to be an integral part of the Coast Guard community, providing support for both military and law enforcement activities. The Coast Guard has been in Secaucus, New Jersey since 1921. The Coast Guard Station was dedicated on May 3, 1921. The first officer of the station was Captain H.L. Parks who served until 1927. In 1930, the Commanding Officer was First Lieutenant J.F. Reeves and he served until 1936 when he succeeded First Lieutenant Cushman as Commanding Officer for a three year term which ended on December 15, 1938. In 1941 First Lt George Goudreau became Commanding Officer with a four-year term which ended on October 16, 1945; In 1947 Second Lieutenants John Ahern and Robert Hickey were named Co-Commanding Officers with one-year terms which expired on September 30, 1951; In 1949 ThirdLieutenant Frank Fenton became Acting Commander with a one-year term which expired at the end of 1952; In 1951 FourthLieutenant Edward Egan became Acting Commander with a two-year term which expired at the end of 1953; In 1954 FifthLieutenant John Srouji took command becoming the permanent Commander effective February 1, 1955; In 1957 SixthLieutenant Raymond Vasta became Acting Commander with a one-year term which expired at the end of 1958; And in 1959 SeventhLieutenant James Pappas became acting Commander effective February 1st after Assistant Commandant Leslie Jaffe’s retirement effective January 1st that year.
Secaucus, New Jersey is a town located in the Hudson Valley region of New York City. The population was 71,461 at the 2010 census. It is bordered by Mount Holly to the north, Hackensack to the east and south, and Bergen County to the west. The town is known for its high school athletic teams, as well as its two large commercial areas: Secaucus Junction and Secaucus North. The first Europeans who set foot in what is now Secaucus were Dutch traders from Amsterdam who named it "Schaaphoek" meaning "headland." The name may have been derived from an Indian word meaning "striped deer." In 1624, Nicholas Mynyk founded a trading post called Fort Orange on what is now Park Avenue in present-day Secaucus Junction. From this post he developed a thriving business exporting goods including salt water fish and produce. In 1714, George Washington passed through on his way from Manhattan to Long Island and noted for his visit Fort Orange which he later renamed White Plains because of British troops stationed there at that time. In 1781, when America gained independence from Great Britain, residents of Secaucus voted 3-2 in favor of joining the new nation despite strong objections from their European neighbors over fears they would be pushed out of their land. During World War II, Secaucus played host to many military installations including Ft Knoppers (later Fort Monmouth) which housed up to 14000 American soldiers during training exercises; also located here were several airfields used by Nazi Germany during World War II such as Lincoln Airfield #1 which served as German Resident Airfield #3; Roosevelt Field served as Italian Resident Airfield #1 during 1944; John F Kennedy Airport was also constructed adjacent to Yankee Stadium between 1950 and 1951 serving both U SAAF fighter aircraft carriers Lexington TF 38G/Lt Curtiss P-38JMs USN with Tactical Fighter Squadron 141 (VF 26) providing support while USS Dwight D Eisenhower DD 803 piloted by Lt Cmdr Franklin W Beale flew carrier airstrikes against targets Japanese forces targets throughout East Indonesia). This WWII era infrastructure has since been replaced by roadways such as I-287 linking Atlantic City with NewarkPhiladelphia via South Jersey Freeway (I-95), major expressways such as I-80 having replaced most if not all these older routes. What remains today of various military installations are still visible in downtownSecaucus through remnant gates/walls/fortifications etc., some dating back more than 200 years! Today's downtown area includes several small businesses anchored by 4 large supermarkets: Safeway Super Markets (now Kroger), anchor store General Mills; JCPenney anchor store Macy's closed in 2007 but redevelopment plans call for a new development called Gateway Mall adjacent to Fordham University - one of 5 planned retail districts being developed along I-287 corridor connecting Newark Liberty International Airport with Giant Center mall near Elizabethtown College - makingSecaucus one of "the Five Boroughs" comprising Partsville Township neighboring Elizabethtown College where higher education institutions are clustered together within close proximity - forming what has come to be known locally as "The Hub". Today's economy depends heavily on energy production due largely to shale gas fracking operations that have become increasingly prevalent across much of New York State following hydraulic fracturing operations approved statewide under section 1027(a)(2)of the Tax Reform Act Of 1986 – see Shale Gas Drilling & Production §1027(a)(2)). These activities have led To increased traffic congestion ahead of long termaned construction projects associated with fracked gas wells being drilled nearby causing gridlock on two major local freeways leading into NJ – I-80 Alternate & Rte 9W – clogging up travel times significantly reducing access points available commercially or publicly available transit services available within minutes’ walkabouts

Secaucus, New Jersey is a town in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 9,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Northeast Philadelphia–South Jersey metropolitan area. Secaucus was founded by English colonists in 1674 as an estate called Hackensack. The name derives from an abbreviation of "Sheepshead Bay" and means "safe harbor". The Dutch also Call it Scheepsdamme because of the abundance of shears that were found there. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Secaucus arrived in 1674 on the ship "Hackensack", which had been chartered by Governor John Rutherford to explore land grants near points such as Cape May and Newark that had been offered to him by Dutch East India Company directors. They were led by Captain Johannes de Jongh, who built a house on Hackensack Lake and named it Fort Orange (now Secaucus). The original village site would eventually encompass present-day blocks A-E on West Egg Road between Park Avenue and Third Street east of Route 1 south of Princeton Junction Boulevard; block F north of Third Street; block G west of Park Avenue; and block Hsouthwest of Route 1. By 1715, when Secaucus became part of Monmouth Township, its boundaries extended only to Second Street east from Princeton Junction Boulevard. In 1838, when section 5th Township was formed out of parts off Monmouth Township including Secaucus, James Waddell laid out a new township plan for what is now northeastern Philadelphia based on his survey findings made during his explorations for the Pennsylvania Railroad company's line through eastern Pennsylvania which began construction in 1837. This new township included all or parts of Blocks A-G from current Secaucus Village except for Block H (now Milford) which was within Block I (later Carteret) then partway into Neptune City before it joined forces with Neptune City proper as per newly created Section 7th Township along with Buttermilk Run Swamp to become Mount Pleasant Borough while still comprising partofSecaucusVillagealongwithButtermilk Run SwampandMount PleasantBorough;; thiswasthefutureoftheTownshipofSecaucusPlainlybeforeitbecame apportionedintotheTownshipofMonmouth onlinein2006.(See map below.) As noted earlier Greenwich Village proper had already come into being adjacent to boroughs Wallington and Plumstead Prior to 2006 when Secaucus Plainly became an official town designation ; however Greenwich Village Proper remained separate from both Wallington Borough and Plumstead Borough until those boroughs merged intoPhiladelphia duetopopulation growth withinPhilly over time.(See map below.) In 1886 following the completion of the Reading Railroad mainline through southeastern Pennsylvania Locomotive No 810 pulled up outside what is now seculux High School after driving its way through some trees just inside present day seculux Cemetery gates where passengers disembarked for their journey back home following their Easter egg hunt at nearby Springwater Woods . At that time seculux Depot served as one end point for passenger trains servicing northeastern PA all the way down to Reading . This depot closed circa 1920 but reopened again briefly around 1930/31 prior tounation road realignment(which removed most access roads directly connecting Newtown Square with commercial areas along Delaware River) On July 15 1954 two members dressed up like pirates--one wearing fake gold jewelry & another using a green wig & full beard--stood outsideseculuxHighSchool doorwaycausingaFamilieschooloutforschoolingsonyschooldaysend&promptlyleftwithoutcataloguesorbooks，followingthepranksoftheday& 24yearoldJohnFoleyfromPhiladelphiaoriginallyresponsible，hasneverbeenconvictedof any crime since..
