Commodore Amos Kendall donated another sloop called Independence to the navy for use as an airship divisional vessel in 1862 followed by Commodore George Pappas donation of another sloop called Patriot in 1865. In 1879, Commodore Alfred Thayer Ditmars gifted HMS Marathon (later HMS Hermes) to the navy for use as part of Operation Neptune’s Spear during World War I followed by Commodore Samuel Eliot Morison who gifted USS Olympia (later USS Independence) to the navy for use during World War II Also in 1886, Rear Admiral David Dixon Porter donatedUSS Monitor (later USS Yorktown)tothenavyforuseduringWorldWarIfollowedbyRearAdmiralGeorgeCunninghamdonatedUSSPioneer(laterUSS templateOnce againin1946). Naval Air Station Sayreville started operations on December 15th 1942 with Grumman F4F Wildcat fighter planes operated from NAS Victor Heights until 1945 when they were replaced by Boeing B-29 Superfortresses . NAS Sayreville closed its doors on July 15th 1951 after serving its purpose through all three wars fought by America against Axis Powers with Grumman F6F Hellcat fighters being converted into jet bombers at NAS Elizabeth City North Carolina beginning on October 1st 1944 while Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bombers began arriving at NAS Elizabeth City starting on December 15th 1941 . This left NASSayreVILLE as NJ's last military installation run by civilians giving Thank You Cards To Our Military For All They've Done For Us Since 1946

The yard built a number of warships for the United States Navy during the 19th century, including USS Constitution (1897), USS Maine (1902), and USS Bainbridge (1905). In 1912, the yard became part of the Garden State Shipbuilding Corporation, which merged with Bethlehem Steel in 1970. The yards continued to build warships until 1976, when they were closed due to budget cuts.
Sayreville is a small town in New Jersey, United States. The population was 9,859 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Sayreville-Hammonton Township School District. The first settlers in Sayreville were led by Jabez Sayre, who arrived in 1788 from Massachusetts. He set up a tannery and tavern on the south side of thetown square. In 1814, he donated land to form what is now Sayreville Lake. In 1827, he founded the nearby Village of Ramapo and became its first mayor. In 1838, Sayreville voted to become an incorporated town under the name of "Ramapo." By 1860, it had increased its population to 10,000 and annexed neighboring townships including Hammonton and Rahway (now Rahway Township). The growth ofSayreville accelerated following World War II when many workers moved into the area to build new mills or return after serving in WWII troops overseas. The post-war boom ended with the recession in 1980s; however,SAYREVILLE has experienced modest growth since then as businesses have returned to their pre-recession levels while families have grown more scattered throughout New Jersey due to suburbanization trends across most states. Today's economy depends largely on service industry jobs such as health care workstations or office support services; however manufacturing jobs are also significant contributors to local coffers. Electricity production has been declining for some time due to competition from cheaper natural gas supplies but SAYREVILLE plans aggressive marketing campaigns for electric vehicle charging stations which could generate about $4 million over five years according to current projections

Sayreville was founded by General George Washington in 1777. The town was originally named after Colonel John Sayre, who served with the Continental Army during the American Revolution. In 1834, Sayreville became a borough and in 1898 it incorporated as a city. Sayreville is located in Middlesex County, New Jersey, within the United States of America. The population of Sayreville was 9,711 as of 2010. The first settlers to what is now Sayreville were farmers and their families who came from Pennsylvania in the early1800s. By 1819, there were three churches and twelve homes in the small community which consisted of just over one hundred people living on two farms and four hogsheads of corn thatched roofs could be seen from miles away. In 1834, General George Washington appointed Mayor Samuel Drysdale to lead an effort to build something new for the town - a public square which would serve as a gathering place for residents and visitors alike. The citizens quickly built up a parks system around this square which included an opera house/theater, schools, a market garden and more importantly - water supply! In 1898, whenSayreville incorporated as a city under state law, it had 725 residents including 300 businesses with its own streets and sidewalks! Today's skyline includes many heavy industry buildings but also some beautiful old houses dating back to before World War I such as #246 Elm Street where Mrs. Alice Kapp lived until her death in 1951 at age ninety-one! Today's mayor is Bob Smith (D). In addition to his job responsibilities as Mayor he also serves on the Board of Education for Middlesex County; he has been mayor since 2003; prior to that he held various roles with local government including member of both Township Councils (1995-2003) & Borough President (2002-2003).

In 1814, the United States government acquired lands in what is now Sayreville from the British Empire. This gave the United States control of much of New Jersey and allowed for development of the town. In 1831, Sayreville became a borough and was governed by a board of commissioners. In 1835, it became an independent city and remained so until 1964 when it merged with nearby Paterson to form Paterson-Sayreville City.
