The first coffee roasters in River Edge were Dutchmen Nicolaas van der Heyden and Cornelis Huygens. They opened a small shop on the town square in 1686. Rocco's Coffee, located on South Street in River Edge from 1892-1912, was the first coffee house in New Jersey with a drive-through window. In 1912, Rocco's was sold to Harry Wexler who renamed it The Wexler Coffee House. It served as the headquarters of The Newark Star-Ledger until its closure in 1985. In the early 1920s, Harlem Coffee Roasters began operations at 8th and Market Streets in Downtown Newark. By 1925, they had relocated to 14th and Market Streets and became known as Harlems own store. In 1935, they were purchased by Emanuel Kantz and continued to operate under his ownership until he died in 1984. After Kantz' death, Harlems ownership passed through several hands before it finally fell into receivership in 1990. It reopened as Bamberger's Coffee House under new management later that year but closed again in 1995 due to financial difficulties. It re-opened as an antique shop around the same time before closing again for good two years later when relations between the business owners deteriorated over money owed to them by customers
River Edge is a borough in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 24,828 at the 2010 census. River Edge is located on the Delaware River at mile marker 9 of the Garden State Parkway. The name "River Edge" was given to the area by settlers after they came across a river that ran through it and its neighbor, Easton. At first they did not think it would be a good place to settle because it was so close to Philadelphia but they changed their minds when they saw how beautiful and fertile the land was. The first homes were built in what is now River Edge in 1812. It wasn't until 1840 that construction began on what is now known as Broadway Street which connected the town of Easton with River Edge. At that time, there were only two houses in River Edge and it took many years for more people to arrive and start making their lives here. In 1906, work started on turning what is now Fairview Avenue into a road which would connect River edge with Camden and other parts of southern New Jersey. This made things much easier for residents who had to go out of town for work or school purposes. In 1957, when Bridgeport Township was created within Camden County, River edge became part of that township as well because it lay within its borders. Today, there are still plenty of reminders of those early days including several small businesses along Broadway Street which date back to when this stretch of road was just a dirt path connecting different farms and homes together. As times have changed, so too has RiverEdge; today’s borough has seen an influx of high-tech workers and entrepreneurs who have drawn new life into the community while also preserving some traditions dating back to its earlier days

This discovery led to the development of electric roasting machines, which allowed for faster roasts without having to wait for the bean to reach its natural roast stage. Coffee started being sold commercially as early as 1693 when Nicholas-Jacques Conte founded La Ciotat del Mare café on Riva Santo Stefano in Venice, Italy. In 1861, John Lennon and Yoko Ono bought a business called Perrotta's Coffee House from Angelo Bitonto for $1 million dollars because they wanted to start their own record label called Apple Records Ltd.–an indication of just how popular coffee was at this point!

River Edge, New Jersey is a town in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 12,883 at the 2010 census. The name of the town derives from the river that flows through it. River Edge is located on the southern edge of Burlington County and is bordered by the towns of Easton to the north, Mount Olivet to the east, South Burlington Township to the south and West Orange Township to the west. The first European settlers in what is now River Edge were Dutch colonists who arrived in 1664. In 1871, a group of Italian Americans settled here and soon started a grocery store and bakery which became one of River Edge's most important commercial enterprises. A post office was established at River Edge in 1873; it was discontinued in 1901. The community began receiving municipal government as part of a larger municipality known as "Easton" on April 4th, 1903. On November 6th 1915 voters approved amending township regulations so that "River Edge" would become an independent village within "Burlington". On December 14th 1923 residents approved making "RiverEdge" an official name for its new village status quo ante locales In 1951-1952 when Interstate 95 was being built through Burlington County (I-95 Freeway), many businesses decided to move out of their old locations on High Street into newly developed areas such as Water Mill Road and Maplewood Avenue due to higher property values and easier access to I-95 traffic gridlock during construction periods. Unfortunately for those business owners who chose not to move or converted their properties into high value homes during this time period; they have generally only recently seen recent reopening attempts by some members of these communities with updated designations (e.g., Dairy Queen) which have been able to capitalize on recent real estate market trends Today there are several major employers in River Edge including: Verizon Wireless which has its headquarters just outside of town off Maplewood Avenue; PNC Bank which has its main branch location off US 1 between Route 906 & 10 Downing Street; Liberty Mutual Insurance Company - one stoplight north off I-95 exit 232 - home insurance giant with over $100 billion worthinsurance policies sold nationwide; Barnes & Noble - anchors two malls downtown along Water Mill Road - One near Indianriver Mall and another near McKnight Drive 1 mile southeast corner from Walmart
