Red Bank, New Jersey is a town in Union County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 20,313 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous municipality within the county and second-most populous municipality in New Jersey after Newark. The name Red Bank comes from the color of its bricks which are a bright red. The first European settler in what is now Red Bank was Nicholas Sacco who arrived there on September 25th, 1675. He had come from Rome with his family to found a new colony in what would become Trenton. In 1701 John Montresor settled in Red Bank and took over control of the local Native American tribe for $10 per acre ($120 per km²). In 1702 George Washington moved his Headquarters from Mount Vernon to Redbank Township as part of his Military campaign against British forces during the War for Independence. Red Bank became an incorporated village on June 15th, 1814 following an act of Congress passed by then-Governor James Ketchum (later Ulysses S. Grant). At that time it consisted of only 10houses and 5 stores; it had a population of just 375 people! On July 1st 1834, following passage of Act No 2 of 3rd NJ Legislature (1834), all towns within Union County were made into one unit – called “Red Bank” – with voting rights given to all residents regardless of race or sex! This act represented another watershed moment for Red Bank as it marked the end of yearslong segregation between black and white residents living within their own respective neighborhoods! From this point forward everyone inside “Red Banks” enjoyed equal rights check free access to public services regardless their social status! The early days at “Red Banks” were fraught with tension as both groups tried to build relationships that would benefit them all. However despite these challenges progress was made as tensions slowly dissipated until World War II when racism again reared its head – this time through discriminatory zoning laws put into place by yet another Republican Governor Morris Tappan! Despite being met with resistance from many key community members including Mayor David Pasternack and Councilman Ellis Brounckx Tappan successfully pushed through legislation defining Red Banks as solely White ethnically based!! euphemistically known today as Community Development Authority Law #2A which allows for mixed housing developments without resident objections thereby perpetuating white supremacy!!! In recent years things have started moving more smoothly for both communities but there are still some lingering issues that need resolving such as lack of accessible transportation options or less than positive neighbourhood reputation due to high levels OF crime rates!!! Overall though things are looking promising for both places with hope that this trend will continue into the future
