Red Bank, New Jersey is a town in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 11,812 at the 2010 census. Red Bank is located on the south bank of the Raritan River. The first European settlers were Dutch and English colonists who arrived in 1664. The name Red Bank (Dutch: Roedeboek) originated from a Native American word meaning "red earth." In 1724, John Woolrich bought land in what is now Red Bank from some of the local Algonquian tribe members for $5 per acre ($128 today). He named his land "Woolrichstown," after himself and his wife Sarah Woolrich (née Woodbury). In 1740, George Washington founded Princeton University in Princeton Township on land he had purchased from Woolrich. With its opening in 1746, Princeton became one of the earliest Ivy League universities. Red Bank was incorporated as a borough on April 14, 1868; it remained an unincorporated township until 1957 when it became part of Mercer County. On December 3, 2006, Red Bank voters passed an ordinance declaring themselves a city under provisions of state law that allow municipalities to be created when there are five percent voter turnout or more in two consecutive mayoral elections cycle and no other municipality with similar demographics has been established within 20 miles of the county seat since 1984. The city limits include all of Mercer County as well as portions of Passaic and Middlesex counties to their north and east respectively which make up Hunterdon County outside the municipal boundaries

After years of becoming popular among coast guardsmen and their families worldwide, this annually favorite collection now includes cards sent both online and through post office mail!
The Coast Guard’s gift history dates back to 1919, when the first Coast Guard cutter, USCGC Cutter Healy, was donated to the agency. The Healy was quickly converted into a combatant vessel and served in the 1st Naval District during World War II. In 1951, the Healy was redesignated CG-3H and served as a unit of the Commander in Chief's Fleet Forces Command until she was decommissioned on October 15, 1970. On July 26, 1984, she was reacquired by the Coast Guard and placed into service as USCGC Guardian (CG-38H). She continued serving with the Service until her decommissioning on April 10, 1992.
Red Bank was founded in 1749 by British colonists as a small town on the Delaware River. It became an important commercial center during the Revolutionary War and after the war it grew into one of the most prosperous settlements in New Jersey. The city's major industry until the mid-20th century was manufacturing, but today Red Bank is a vibrant community full of culture and commerce. Red Bank has long been known for its rich colonial history and its role in the development of New Jersey. The town was named for two Dutch landowners who donated land to become part of what would become New Jersey. In 1749, John Woolridge, an attorney from Lancaster County, petitioned King George III to recognize his donation and establish a courthouse in Red Bank. The king granted Woolridge's request and soon thereafter Red Bank began to grow rapidly as settlers arrived seeking new opportunities in America. The first permanent English settler in Red Bank was Richard Stockton, who arrived in 1751 with his family. Stockton built a log cabin on what is now Main Street and started trade with Native Americans before developing a more successful commercial enterprise around 1760. By 1800, when Red Bank boasted over 100 businesses, it had become one of the most important trading ports on the Delaware River between Philadelphia and Yorktown Heights. During the early years of American independence, Red Bank played an important role as a crossroads for goods travelling between Philadelphia and Manhattan via riverboats or wagonsaddle teams across open country beyond Princeton Junction. As economic activity shifted from maritime to inland trade during this time period, many local residents turned their attention to politics instead of business pursuits - an example that can be seen throughout much of New Jersey during this era.
Red Bank is a town in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 21,812 at the 2010 census. The name of the town is taken from the riverbank on which it sits. The first settlement in Red Bank was made by Loyalists who fled persecution in England after the American Revolutionary War ended. The first store opened in 1795 and early settlers were farmers and merchants. By 1813 Red Bank had a post office and two stores. In 1815, John Stevens began to build a saw mill on the riverbank and named it "Red Bank." In 1819, Red Bank became an incorporated municipality with a mayor and council meeting each week. In 1827, George Washington granted land to the town for streets and lots; this land would become known as Green Street today. In 1830, John Bulfinch built a gristmill on Mill Road near what is now Hawthorne Park. The mill continued operation until 1865 when it was destroyed by fire. 2) On November 3rd, 1775, during the course of fighting between British regulars led by General William Howe against Patriot forces commanded by Benedict Arnold on Long Island (now Westchester County), three men were fatally shot while working at an Iron Works located near present-day White Plains Junction: Samuel Cooper (age 25), James Dearborn (age 22), John Robinson (age 20). These three deaths are commemorated annually through solemn ceremonies at Iron Works Conservation Society location adjacent to old mills where they worked
